Been given an unidentified resin Seafire FR47.  Awful kit - fuselage misshapen, fin the wrong shape and size, wings horribly thick...  I could go on about the deficiencies all day but life's too short.

I suspect the guy who gave me it is having a laugh...  I think it's salvageable though.  Maybe...

From ebay:

Matchbox 1:700 USS San Diego
Airfix Bristol Superfreighter

The Superfreighter will be turbo-propped, and in Middle East Air Force colours. Either a tactical transport or a gunship. Not sure about the San Diego. It's my first Matchbox boxed kit though, dated 1978. Quite nice! Need to find a HMS Tiger kit now...

Bugger - there were two Matchbox Tigers on ebay last week. Didn't know you were looking.....

Somebody (can't recall who) did a pre-helo conversion Tiger: I was coveting one a while back for the 3" gun turrets, but it went for serious collector money.

Joe P backdated one with a missile system aft.

we could really do with the kit being reissued and a conversion set doing as the 6" and 3" turrets could be used on various projects and proposals.

Must admit RN cruisers need to be covered in 1/700 plastic at somestage, i noticed the Town/Colony is allways a high scorer in various online polls

Weaver: I did bid on one last week, but it went to about £22 plus postage I think - too much for me. I'll keep looking though.

Hopefully Revell will dig the moulds out at some stage. Maybe we need to start a petition!

I'd love to see some more RN stuff in plastic. Fiji-class and Hawkins-class cruisers would be very nice to see, and some capital ships. And anything post-war would be great. And yet all we're seeing released these days is IJN tankers! You'd think the RN had never existed...
