Except it would be real and not a whiff........however, someone on Armorama/Model Shipwrights did one (he had a different boxing with photo-etched penguins   )

Well, have it exploring a UFO crash site and you're golden! ;)

I remember seeing FRANK SPAHR'S BUILD in a  German modelling magazine. He later used one of the lil' Bell 47s to make a dio with two explorers examining a sphere (fashioned from a washing powder dispenser ball ) from outer space crash-landed in the Arctic.

Great shout Moritz, but its not such an original idea now...

On the other hand, what's Japanese for The Thing?

Sales of Airfix kits plummeted in the 1980s, and GCSEs had to be made easier as a result - James May

HLJ had them on sale a couple of weeks back, so I ordered two of the Hasegawa 1/72 AV-8B+ VMA-214 & VMA-513 2-in-1-kits. Including shipping, these two were cheaper than trying to source one of those here in Germany. One of the four will probably end up in USMC livery, one in Spanish Armada colours. The other two? Hmmm, one of Coops Australian Harriers?

IIRC, the Japanese original of "The Ring" was called "Ringu" in Japan, so how about "Thingu"?

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Got a Revell/Hasegawa CL-13 Sabre for 9 EUR today. Don't know what I'll do with the plane, but, inspired by Mav's profile, I think the decals may look good on a Luftwaffe Mirage III. The plane, hmmm, maybe an Egyptian Sabre? Maybe the Revolution of 1952 didn't happen and Egypt continued to be a kingdom?

And the 1/144 stash got some Sino-Russian reinforcements. All from Trumpeter. An A-50 Mainstay, a Su-34, a J-8II, an F-7MG and an F-7EB (Air Ballet). The lil' ones were 1.49 EUR a pop, the Mainstay at around 60% of what it'd cost otherwise.
Cheers,
Moritz

From ebay, Airfix 1/600th Type 21 Amazon class frigate. To be scaleorama'd into a 1/700th "Niteroi-style" mid-'70s frigate for the RN.

Pleasantly surprised to see that they've upgraded the kit to include 4 x Exocets since the last time I built it!  Since they were adding an extra small sprue though, it's a pity they didn't take the chance to include correct Corvus chaff rockets on the former boat deck, an offset radar platform with a 1010 IFF  to go with the 992, and the SCOT domes and cabin: all conspicuous things, easily added.

From Mr Sequoiaranger, and all the way from the States, a monogram and Aoshima Tigercat in 1/72nd scale. Both will be turbo propped, one as a COIN bird the other with a bigger nose with radar for maritime patrol.
Cheers,
Chris.
