LOL - Would that be from a seller offering several similar packages of kits? If so, then I looked at that one, but didn't need it (got a similiar Soviet package a while ago). I did, however, win one of the others, but superstition forbids me from announcing it until I've actually got the kits in my hands.

Dunno - other people seem to get away with it, so I thought it was just me.......  ;)

Hmmm in Arnold, Nottingham eh? I wonder if that's the latest incarnation of Tabletop Games aka TTG? If so, I used to play their Starforce 300 and Laserburn sci-fi games at school: still got a load of the stuff.....

Got a Revell 1/72 Mirage F.1 (Hasegawa moulds) and a Revell 1/144 F/A-18C Hornet. A department store round 'ere had a special sale. 20% off all toys. Normally I would argue that model kits are NOT toys, but you didn't see me arguing in this case.

I'm surprised Herr Moritz hasn't piped up about Werner just yet - <...>

You called?  ;D Yeah, Werner was a bit of a cult figure in the '90s. Always enjoyed the films and especially that football game. A good part of Werner's appeal is that the setting is Northern Germany with it's very peculiar dialect/accent.

Regarding that bike, the "Satte Literschüssel": It's not a just a comic book concept. It was really built and can be driven! And these guys also built a bike powered by 24 chainsaws! 1/1 scale whiffing!
Cheers,
Moritz

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

Daryl J.

Two 1/48 Hasegawa Fw-109F-8's (1/2 price at a major Japanese e-tailer)
One 1/48 Hasegawa Ki-27 Nate  (1/2 price at the same purveyor)

Moritz, I agree, his stuff's pretty wicked the stuff I've seen.  With the way you speak about the appeal of Werner being a Northerner, sounds like you're in the south like my friend, who's over in Bavaria.  I forget where in Deutschland you're from.  I would imagine he's quite way up in the north, since he's in Kiel, which gets close to the Danish border, what with the Kaiser Wilhelm Canal near there and the Danes just a short hop further north.  Probably part of why the dialect/accent is different.  I remember my friend telling me about a few of the subtle differences, like how Northerners will pick out the different inflections between sechs und zex, ja?

Back from Telford - only 3 kits for me, but lots of "extras" :o

Trumpeter 1/350 JMSDF Kongo DDG-173
+ WEM Arleigh Burke etched set

Kinetic 1/48 Modern Weapons set + free F-16AM (NATO version).  The amount of stores in this kit is eye-popping.

Pavla 1/72 ACES II bang seat for F-15J I've just started

Some WEM paints.

But the biggie.....

Airfix 1/72 Nimrod (courtesy of HofE, for a great price)
+ Cammet AEW conversion
+ Heritage white metal undercarriage
+ Xtradecal Nimrod decal sheet (unusable kit decals)
+ Model Alliance Nimrod stencils (see above)

Trev says it has to be Japanese, Dunc says it has to be Indian, and normally they would be at the top of my Whiffy list, but ever since it came out I've wanted to do an RAF in-service AEW.3, and this will be it.
