Well I havn't bought anything as yet this year, but I have done a swap/part ex with Bungle. I swapped an Airfix sea Harrier some decals and a tenner for a Esci Tupolev Tu-22 Backfire. And very nice it is too, just a Tu-95 bear, and a TU-160 Blackjack left to acquire and thats my Russian big bombers covered. I will have to sell my kidneys to be able to afford the bear and Blackjack in 1/72nd scale though :banghead:

I doubt you will be wanting mine, as I got bought loads of bottles of real ale and 4 bottles of Jack Daniels for Christmas,so selling them to buy model kits would work out better I think lol

OK, so moving away from the pprospective sale of internal organs...... here's my joint Birthday & Xmas prezzie, to m'self...... almost £40.00 of kit and another £9.00 for the decals, this isn't going to be a What If - no surprise really - building for the D-Day GB over on Britmodeller.com

Wish me luck. I've never done a 'limited run' kit before, entering uncharted territory here....

I've read good reports on that Ian - looking forward to your take on it

Italeri 1/72 AB41 a/car. Should give my Roman Auxillary patrols on the Persian frontier a little heavier support.

I'm gradualy getting rid of my complicated small scale armour (Dragon, Trumpeter some Revel) and concentrating on the easier stuff - all them small parts  :banghead:

Not to do with a stash increase but having worked in statistics most of my adult life I was wondering if you could get a correlation between buying patterns over the years on these threads and the current ecconomic cycle or currency movements - sad I know, but possibly and interesting excercise. I'd have to allow for membership fluctuation of course  :banghead:  ;D

It will have some effect, both directly in our pockets plus whats available and where to get it (Low exchange rate means buying overseas no longer a cheaper alternative).

However other aspects also come to mind, its teh immediate post Christmas period where money is generally tight and new items are generally delayed till the end of the monthwhilst old stocks are cleared. Couple this with the fact we have had something of a golden period in recent years with alot of items of diect interest being released which have sort of been classed as must buys. Now these subjects are running out and with producers cutting back on new and probably more specialised subject areas our pickings are getting scarce.

Somehow i feel that 2009 will be more a year of stash builds and most purchases will be of items previously announced by not yet issued are the actual New Releases announced so far are rather slim on suitable subjects. The Toy fairs in the next couple of months should give a better picture of whats coming and if it will get our mouths watering

Bought my first kits of the year today from the LMS, 1/16 Luftwaffe fighter pilot and a set of German 1/48 tank figures, both boxes by Tamiya.

sounds absolutely perfect for the job.

Whereas today I picked up from the LHS a Zvezda 1/72 Mi26     Kit looks awesome, alas mine comes with the flattened windscreen :(  Zvezda have apparantly offered to replace all deformed canopies though :)

Now all I need is those Indian decals to be released....

Lindberg stuff:  XF-88, F-11F, OA-9, and  a Monogram F-101B w/ Eduard yellow tape masks.    Hope they ship soon enough to work on in the trailer.

XF-88--one version for the US Navy, the other under the story that Hawker actually did most of the development and which  McDonnell bought and created the Voodoo line.....this verison to be tha Hawker developed rendering.

F-11F---Stretched, rewinged into a low level strike fighter, likely by the RAF.   Odd moulding shapes become an advantage here.

OA-9   ToBeDetermined
