So 28mm figures = what in proper scales?

They are wargames figs Rad so scales don't really come into it as they "represent" a group of troops (actual number varies dependent on the rules you use and the ground scale said rules use) Most 25mm figures are nearer 28mm and some get to 30mm, most 15mm are nearer 18mm and some go to 20mm. Again most figures are measured from foot to eye, therefore the stated size is not strictly the height of the figure. Means you cannot easily match different manufacturers figures in the same army  Marketing ploy ?? Still they are very good with loads of options as to how they are built up and posed - different heads, arms etc. Looking forward to the French stuff.

Whilst in MZ got the Italeri 1/35 CA L6/40 - a bit overpriced, but it does have some etch and one of their nice detail books.

Courtesy of the generous services of Aircav, I now have a flying-type-guy for my RW 1/32 CF-104. He started as an F-16 pilot (from the Academy F-16CG/CJ) but he is on his way to being backdated to a 1980s Starfighter pilot. And no, this does NOT mean I'm suspending him under a parachute.

On Friday, I picked up an Italeri SU-34 and F-19 from MartG on this here establishment, F-19 looks like a good contender for UCAVing.
Yesterday after seeing Weavers post, went to Hobbycraft and got their last Revell Mig-31 for £7.49. Which is half what my LMS are selling them for.

Piggybacking off the 'Cheap Kits' thread elsewhere I dropped into my local Hobbycraft (Cribbs Causeway, Bristol) and picked up the newer Revell Mig-31 Foxhound, and the new Italeri Harrier GR3 'Falkland', as well some paint and glue and stuff.

Hobbycraft continue to surprise with their increasing range of 'serious' plastic modelling stuff. They even have large stocks of Evergreen styrene, not that I'd buy their plain sheets, but the sections are excellent and almost unobtainable over the counter elsewhere.

The GR3 looks good, with lots of stores and three decal options, one of the 'Atlantic Conveyor' aircraft, one of the other GR3s that flew direct to the Task Force from Ascension and one in the white camo overpaint scheme for exercises in Norway. As you'd expect, much of it is from their SHAR 1 kit, just the nose and stores on a separate sprue.
