Got the new Revell 1/72 F/A-18E Super Hornet yesterday. From the looks of it, a great kit! In-box review later, if anyone's interested.

Sounds great Moritz, how are you going to do the DSI inlet?

I have no idea. But sv51macross fitted a DSI inlet to THIS VIPER BOOSTER. I think I'll go along a similar route.
Cheers,
Moritz

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

From my friend frank2056, I received a pair of 1/72 Pavla resin ejection seats for the F-80/T-33.  Now I have to finish my Uruguayan machine.

And I'm thinking of borrowing your idea for a South American conflict! So fair trade...

Courtesy of sonofjim on BM I finally got myself an Academy Raptor! :D

Even better, it included Wolfpack cockpit & exhaust sets, plus Twobobs decal sheet, all for £50, so I'm well happy :)

It will of course, be Japanese.  Only decision is whether to do a frontline squadron or Aggressor...

A couple days ago I had to travel to Corvallis Oregon and stopped by Trumps hobby shop to get a few things for painting this years new backdrop and I was looking at their selection of plastic kits and spotted a stack of old MPM kits and they had a Focke-Wulf Fw 190 V18 which I decided to buy, these older MPM kits make into some very nice what-ifs.

The next day I opened up the box and looked at what was inside and its a mess! There was a lot of flash on some of the parts which will require a lot of extra work to remove and the surface of the fuselage has a gritty feel to it and the panel lines are not very sharp either.
I have built a few MPM kits before including the Fw 190 V18 kit so I know what to expect from these short run kits but this one is the worst I have seen yet, this kit may have been one of the last produced using this mold.

Trumps Hobbies is mostly an RC type of hobby shop but they do have a nice selection of plastic kits, a few Model Master paints, but no aftermarket decal sheets. I did not have very much time to look around but they had a few kits that have been there for a long time with some good prices, years ago when I used to fly RC I stopped by Trumps quite often and was shocked at the high price they were selling the plastic kits for. Now some of those same kits are still there at the same price....I plan to go back there but next time I will have more time and will bring more money too. ;D

From that nasty siren of a site ebay,
Airfix Kaman seasprite, I was going to make it into an armed rescue helicopter but it would need too much work, so it might be just an un armed utility copter, with a winch and a FLIR pod.
Also from the same place, Airfix F-5 e tiger 2, to go with the other 2 in my Honduras air force.

The Airfix Seasprite was the first model I ever built - my dad bought it for me when I was about 5 or 6. I remember the smell of the glue and stirring the tins of paint. It looked really good when we'd finished. It got played with though, so it's long gone. I think I still have the torpedo from it somewhere...

The seasprite is a favourite helicopter of mine, and I have been looking for one for a while now. I built one as a kid also, and I still have bits of it floating round the bone yard. I am going to be sympathetic with the build of this one.......maybe

Grabbed an Airfix Pucara today. Nothing big, but it's already got an OV-10D nose on it...

From a spate of cheap item snapping on ebay:

1. Box of misc weapons and bits (mostly undercarriage)

2. Incomplete Airfix 1/72nd Blenheim IV with a botched canopy. Got vague ideas of a slim-fuselage "Blenfighter", but don't hold your breath...

I've still got plans for a "barge busting Blenheim" circa 1940. Mk I or IV "invasion emergency" conversion in the field. Removal of turret, instalation of .303 guns in the nose and a load of 25lb bombs. All out attack on the gathering invasion fleet.

Still got an Airfix IV and a Revell I left in the stash for the purpose.

arrived to day from dEvil Bay
Hasegawa bombs and rocket pods, weapon set, I already have more free fall bombs than I could ever use, but the rocket pods will come in handy for all the COIN birds I will be doing. Plus the MER's in the kit will be getting used on a future Vigilante project
Cheers, Chris.

Just arrived from ebay:

Tamiya 1/100th Me-262 & Me-163 (one box)

Don't have any particular plans for these, but for the princely sum of £4 (inc. postage), I wasn't going to let them pass.

Sometimes I LOVE ebay (and sometimes......)
