Well i was dragged into a charity shop at the weekend, and found an Airfix F-15E on the shelf. Box was taped shut and a shake confirmed it wasn't empty. So I paid my £1.00 for it. Hopwever, on opening, all that's in it is the armament from the kit.

Oh well - caveat emptor.

And as it was a worthwhile charity (South Buckinghamshire Hospice), i won't be demanding my money back.

But i will be very careful next time.

But then again, if you saw the armament sprue off an F-15E on ebay, wouldn't you pay £1 + postage for it?

Well there was a knock on the door and the postie stood there with a 21st Century Macchi 202 in 32nd scale, which I had exchanged with a guy in california for a beer glass.

Also, 2 pairs of 32nd scale Spitfire wings for a build I am planning.

Hooray!!
Life's too short to apply all the stencils

Got a delivery today of three sheets of plastic card 660mm x 680mm in thichnesses of 1mm, 1.5mm and 2mm.

So just need the glue and the filler and i'm away building more ship projects  ;D

(The larger sheets work out cheaper than the more standard A4 ish sized sheets and it allows for one piece flight decks and hulls without having to join two sheets together )

Was bad... again...

Don't recall the company names, but three resin ships this time:

1 x 1/700 USS Alaska
1 x 1/700 USS Des Moines
1 x 1/700 USS Long Beach

All are getting the '80's treatment (ie, modernization ala the Iowas), with the Long Beach getting her AEGIS refit with VLS.  They're gonna look great next to my CSGN.

I dont usually post eBay acquisitions until they arrive, but I just won an Airifx 1/72 TSR.2, still sealed inthe bags, for $30 and had to tell about it!  Lots of other eBay madness at the moment, but I'll wait 'till they arrive on the dooorstep to post them!

So I got that going for me...which is nice....

You lucky bugger, getting a JAG Long Beach.  I'm praying to get one for the B-Day.  Similarly, I'd like to whif it with AEGIS and VLS and such, though I'd also consider something sadistic like giving her the original Polaris tubes.  She'd look great beside my Polaris-gifted Kentucky BBGBHN.

I'm guessing your Alaska's the Midship Models one that was put out recently.  Another one I wouldn't mind taking, and similar to your process, whiffing like a mofo.  I think she'd look pretty sweet with a pair of Mk13's superfiring her 12's in place of the old 5" mountings, sorta like a Sovrem on drugs.

The Des Moines is probably least of interesting in that list to me, though I'm sure I could think of something to do with one if the skies opened up and she landed in my lap.

Today my trade with The Dark Master arrived, a fonderie Nord Griffon, very nice looking plane that screams out Gerry Anderson to me, so you already know what this thing will be part of
And some decals arrived today from DaFrog from Australia!! these things took no time at all to get here.
Cheers,
Chris.
