I still don't understand why Switzerland didn't buy the J-35F instead of paying through the nose to adapt the Mirage III to do what the Draken could do straight off the line.... :huh:

Been extremely lucky on eBay this evening. Just won a Hasegawa 1:48 Typhoon 1B (with rockets not bombs) for £17.00 including postage. There's quite a few for sale atm, and recently sold; and NONE of them have gone for less that £20.00 (£22.00ish being the average).

As I say VERY lucky.

Bumper crop from ebay today, due to deliveries all arriving together:

Modelland (?) 1/72nd PZL P.24 VACFORM  :blink: :blink: :blink: Dirt cheap and there seems little chance of getting an injection one. Amusingly, the manufacturer was described in the auction as "Skala": looking at the instructions, I'm 99% sure that's simply Polish for "scale"......

Monogram 1/72nd Curtiss Hawk 75 A-3. More SCW fodder.

Heller 1/72nd P.39Q Airacobra, complete with it's own decals and a set of Techmod ones. This was bundled with the Hawk and I got them both for a decent price.

Skywave 1/700th HMS Exeter, all the way from the good ol' USA, but still a reasonable price (given what the Dragon ones go for) with postage factored in.

The Dragon Type 42's aren't that bad, they come with etch for the radars and stuff for the extra detail, and they're the best choice if you're looking at doing a fully upgraded Batch 3 - they actually include the upgraded 4.5" turret.
Putty-fu, Scratch-jutsu and Bash-chi, the sacred martial arts of the What-If. Mastering them, is Ancient Chinese Secret.

Just your friendly neighbourhood Mad Scientist and Ship-whiffer.

Overkill? Nah, it's Insurance.  So are the 20" guns.

The same bits as you: a Dragon Charlie Adams for it's Ikara launchers and it's Mk.13 launcher so that at least one of the Type-42s doesn't got to waste (US-armed version). However, since I'm a bit disappointed with the Ikaras in the Adams now I've seen pictures of them, I might scratch them instead: there's enough spare bits on the Type-42 and Spruance weapon sprues to still make something "interesting" out of them.

Got a vacform Avro 707 from Bungle, going to be some sort of single seat ground attack aircraft, and unexpectedly also got a vacform mig 9, no ideas for this but oneday it will see the light of day.

Salute to Bungle for this  :bow:  :bow:  :bow:

Weaver - you could also use the Mk10 twin-arm launchers off the '42 sprue - a little scratchbuilding to the structure or the cheese wedges on the deck and you have the reload hatches to sling missiles up onto the arms for firing.  The catch 22 of the old Sea Dart magazine is that it's Short by comparison, but if you reworked the magazine, ostensibly you could fit a Mk26 in as well if you modified the way it's reloaded - the 26 is fed off a long track that runs down the center belowdecks which would make it a pain.

Popped in to Chestermoor this morning to get some Evergreen 2mm plastic rod and walked out with a 1/32 Revell MBB BK-117 as well.  ;D
