As I have theorized in the past, the most commonly released ship kits are those that have been sunk!  Everyone has heard of the Bismark, but only naval buffs could name the ships responsible for her sinking....

From memory, the KGV and the Rodney did all the damage, then the Dorsetshire (?) finished her off with a torpedo, although many German naval historians claim that she was actually scuttled by her crew.

When my mum was a clippy (bus conductress), she had a driver for a while who'd been on the Rodney when she sank the Bismark. He said that as they stood on the rail, watching her sink, there was almost dead silence: there-but-for-the-grace-of-God and all that......

Don't forget Ark Royals Swordfish delivered the initial blow that snared her allowing the Home fleet to surround her.

Its pretty academic if the crew scuttled her or not she was reduced to a burning hulk.

Wasn't doing, but Nev's original post was about naming the ships involved. By the way, as Ark Royal steam north from Gib, going flat out in a straight line with no zig-zagging, she ran straight over a German U-boat, which was returning to port, having expended all it's torpedoes...... :o Apparently, the U-boat captain was banging the periscope handles and screaming with frustration.........

Targets of opportunity from ebay, unboxed but complete, all Italeri and all 1/72nd:

AH-1W Super Cobra
KA-50 Hokum
V-22 Osprey

and since they were all from the same seller, who very kindly agreed to bulk up the postage, I got the lot for £8 inc P&P...

Only possible small problem is that the V-22's transparencies are yellowed. Still worth it for the bits though.

I've got the 1/72nd and 1/48th kits and I'm pretty sure they have yellow moulded clear parts as standard.

I have 2 Italeri V-22's in 72nd scale, and the earlier one of the 2 kits which had markings for all services with it has yellow transparencies, the later Mv-22 version has clear transparencies

Chrisonord and Green Dragon:

Re V-22 canopies, cheers, that's a small load off my mind! I did wonder since the kits show every sign of being carefully stored.

Any idea as to why they were moulded yellow?
