Still picked up another pair of SHAR (FRS-1/FA2) together with the Mig-15
(Didn't spot any ship kits i wanted)

Had to go into town yesterday to meet a client, while there I dropped by the LMS to get a supply of blades for the hobby knife and stock up on some Flexifiles.  That was all I intended to buy but then the owner showed me the new Airfix Spitfire Mk.XIX (C$12.95), then he showed me the new Airfix Canberra B(I).8 (C$37.95), hmm! so quess what came home with me.  I'd done pretty good this year withholding buying urges up till then, and after dropping by another LMS to get the B-52 wheels I had ordered sometime ago, found an Xtrakit Scimitar there, well that came home too --- oh well!

1/35 US WW2 heavy MG kit
1/35 Allied/German armour detail kit

Now I have to remember how to paint armour detail bits like bedrolls and rucksacks. And then how to diorama something other than water.

Next I need some esoteric subjects - a pre-WW2 tank and an ammo/supplies carrier, maybe a half-track? They can be any country since they're for a Patchwork World diorama, where any state can end up with any other state's equipment.

Bought a Hobby Boss 1/700 scale Type VIIB German u-boat a week ago so that I could display a u-boat next to my Habakkuk model for scale reference.
Got at a model club Xmas gift exchange a week ago the Dragon 1/700 USS Pennsylvania battleship kit.
Went to a Xmas party today with some members from a local model club I belong to and after the party, me and a friend went to a local hobby store and I spent a gift certificate on an Italeri 1/720 LHA-4 USS Nassau amphib ship.
Modeling isn't just about how good the gluing or painting, etc. looks. It's also about how creative and imaginative you can be with a subject.
My modeling philosophy is: Don't build what everyone else has done. Build instead what nobody has seen or done before.

Did have a look at it in MZ on Friday. Decided I couldn't do it justice so walked away

Postie was working to day and dropped off two things from ebay, a 1/35 Heller Compagine Saharienne, which has two figures and a camel (one hump, four legs) plus a 1956 service manual for the Hiller UH-12A,B,C helicopter  :thumbsup:

On my way home from the works xmas do at the NEC out side Birmingham, i happened to drop by the Midland Air Museum. and came away after offering to rehome a new Airfix SeaHarrier FRS-1 and a Pair of Airfix SeaHarrier FA-2's.
I always hope for the best.
