Welcome aboard and bugger.

Been working on a RN Bearcat with the same Monogram kit (got it painted white and been sitting ever since).
I thought about adding a spinner and got to admit, looks good with it.

I would imagine the Kelpie wasn't favoured for non carrier deck operations with the nose wheel.

Great work though.

As another fan of trike-geared Mustangs, could I trouble you for a bigger photo of that one, please?  Fantastic ideas, all, JayBee!

Do not be so sure. The Griffon with the re-shaped nose was so smooth aerodynamically that the American air racers bought up the few that were available. In the early Reno races these were so fast that they were subsequently banned and, for the time being, the only one known to be in existance is the one under restoration at the FAA Museum at RNAS Yeovilton.

John Howling Mouse (weird name!) Oh well. you will find my e-mail address in the mebers list, and you are invited to drop me an e-mail and I will in return send you all the photos I have of the Kelpie.
Have you checked Wikipedia yet?

I hope they had a stone/mud guard on the nose wheel then to stop FOD damage to the radiator intake!

That last one is pretty good, Jaybee - approx. 800px wide is a good size.

They did not need a stone/mudguard.
They used a retractable mesh guard, just like the Cessna A-37.
