With great pride we can announce we have broken the World Speed Record!

With superior Socialist teamwork and engineering prowess we have built a vehicle that has beaten the Thrust SSC and achieved a speed never before imagined for a ground vehicle.

Here we see the Krasnaya Zvesda at the record site, just after being unloaded from an Antonov 124:


And here we see an image of the record run (a run witnessed by the international record authorities and several American and British observers):


Note the shockwaves above the vehicle, proving it has exceeded Mach 1.

We can reveal a few more details on our glorious effort to exceed Mach 2. We have received some disparaging remarks from ignorant American press on the presence of "radio tubes" in the Krasnaya Zvesda.

The craft uses a stability augmentation system to provide a safe journey at any speed and support the heroic driver. To provide the fastest possible reaction speed, we have used high-frequency analogue electronics, instead of a slow and error-prone digital system.

We also categorically deny any alternate use of the ethanol-based cooling fluid.
