It would be an understatement to say that lots of Whiffers enjoy Russian/Soviet stuff, and there are always Camo questions. With plenty of exotic camouflages out there it is hard to keep track of them all, but I thought it would be a great idea to have folks post some of their favorite Russian/USSR/Eastern block, or even "Made in Russia" gear from all over the world, Along with markings, exotic emblems, vehicles, flags Etc. So to get us started:

Here are some examples of the current camo that the Czech air force uses on a few different aircraft types such as the Hind, Hip and W-3 Sokol helicopters as well as the Antonov 26 and some of the Let 410 Turbolet tansports, I'm quite partial to it myself:

A few others:
This gloss "sand and spinach" scheme is fleet standard for Czech L-39s in the strike training role:

This rather eyecatching three tone green camo was used on Polish AF Antonov 26s. I'm not sure if the Polish still use the Antonov or have managed to replace them all with CASA transports by now. And the greens were as bright in life as you see them in the picture.

Love them Yaks!

Is it just me, or are the ex-WP countries' (Czech, Polish, Hungarian) aircraft in MUCH better shape now than back in the old days? They're clean, looking sharp...

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Soviet aircraft aren't always angular & ugly, but bear in mind that these two never got to production!

That's because the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, SLovakia and a few others are NATO mambers now and NATO actually has STANDARDS they have to comply to.

The fact that they all have professional militaries now rather than conscription also helps as the morale is actually there in the people to bother keeping the equipment going.
