Looking back, I seem to have neglected to post a few pics of land vehicles from Ostrava in September 2010:

Here's a Czech BMP-2:

Some views down the hatches of a T-72 M4-CZ:

Various vehicles and gear that make up the SA-6 "Gainful" SAM system:

I agree about the camo, you also see it on their T-72 based vehicles and the Dana SPG vehicle.

I really wish my photo of the SAM unit's badge on the driver's door of the Zil truck had turned out. It was this really cool image of a frog catching a fighter on it's tongue.

That's one load you really don't want to shift.  Surely they had a specialist trailer for it????
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

I think he's pulled off onto the shoulder of the road to allow traffic past.  Bad mistake with a load that heavy.  The angle is such it looks like it is about to slip off but its more than firmly secured.  I'd be more worried about the shoulder collapsing although, there, in Winter its not likely.  The ground is more than like as hard, if not harder than the tarmac of the road.   :o

Well, a bit of a stretch to call it Soviet these days, but still :

Thanks Harro!  Quite some photos there.  I guess the one in the video is a different machine.  I translated into English with Google Translate, the site sounds pretty pro-Soviet twenty years later!
