As the conflict with the Axis controlled European ,African ,and Asian countries continued through the late '50's and into the early '60's Canada was one of the few Combined Commonwealth countries that managed to remain relatively uninvolved . Though not technically neutral Canadian troops were officially withdrawn from Europe in 1945 although they remained in Austrailia and Free China territories until 1956. The Canadian peoples were very divided when full troop withdrawls were completed that year . To avoid internal conflict and live up to their obligations to the Combined Commowealth they authorized the Canadian Volunteer Groups . These generally consisted of Marine divisions carried aboard RoT ,Venezuelan , and Portuguese carrier groups and flew missions with their own chain of command and markings.
She is all glossified and ready for decals

Ok so I put some more stuff on her. I went through the decal stash and I could not resist "Aliens" is one of my favorite movies .

I found the 2 words on 2 different decal sheets but they were so close I just had to use them. I had planned on getting a sheet of letters so I could do CVG for Canadian volunteer group but considering the unit I thought this would be apropo

I also found on 3 different sheets matching ( ) markings




I figured those could be "Combined Commonwealth" markings
Since this plane will be flying off a Portagee carrier (and since it is a JP VIEIRA) I figured she better have recog marks

I am pretty sure this one says "If it don't fit ,hit it with a bigger hammer"
