Ron, wouldn't it be easier to start with a blob of putty then add your bits and pieces to it?  ;D   You are a serious glutton for punishment! Always looks great when your done but if I saw something like that on my workbench it would still be there five years from now....I'm a putty coward!  :banghead:

It is really shaping up nicely!

Thanks TTomcat ,I think ;D  Jeff sometimes I think your right about being a glutton for PSR punishment. But you know I honestly can not think of a single straight OOB model kit that it would make me happy to build. It also strikes me that my monstrous creations seem to make a lot of other people happy besides me.  ;D
Here is more good, strong putty -fu

I do like the way the rear fuselage is turning out(I was worried about that)

This is actually smoothing up really well  and I am loving the shape. Sometimes profiles look better as profiles than when you actually build them. This one looks bad arse

All of your designs are special, but this one shaping to be a favorite of mine. Two of my very favorite aircraft all in one! WOOHOO! ;D
Look behind you!

Eddie M.

By the way, what do you do with all the landing gear you don't use on these projects of yours?

Boy.  Being lukewarm on both parents of this child, just looking at it makes me feel all dirty inside.

But then, I have to admit, this is one really decent looking bird.  Whiff par excellence!

ysi_maniac

Why does PhantomStar look like PornStar?
Love your project
Will die without understanding this world.

sotoolslinger

Thanks y'all ;D I am actually kind of torn on both these AC . I grew up loving both the concepts and in absolute love with the shapes of both of them. I grew up though and learned of the flaws of each and so I grew kind of disenchanted.. I figure this build fixes the flaws of both AC .It gives the Starfighter much more wing and loadout while achiving manuverability. It makes the Phantom lighter, with the same power and most of the loadout while fixing all the aerodynamic flaws and once again imparting manuverability,

As far as you know ;D

Is it just me, or is that a Spey Phantom as the father?  The engines look bigger than a standard Phantom.

Looking good, Ron!

Overkill? Nah, it's Insurance.  So are the 20" guns.

sotoolslinger

Well Saur I think this is Testors sorry attempt at either or. They give you two types of exhaust nozzles the standard ones and then the short ones you see on Speys .It is my understanding that Speys are a lot larger in diameter than the standard Phantom engines so I guess they just cast the fuselage really big and put oversized exhausts on it. This works out for me fine as we all know it will have Toolslinger Engine Works thrusters anyway which are much more powerful than GE J-79's
