Saw this report from the French Toy Fair on the Modelstories site. http://modelbox.free.fr/news/UE2009_P/index.html
Not as much info as last years lists, surprised there is no list from Heller being a French company. Are they still in business?
There's a lot on the Airfix list that I want. It says the 1/72nd Buccaneer has extra parts, anyone know what they are?

Hi Paul

from what Trev said at SMW i think its alternative pylons, weapons and fittings to allow the SAAF Mk50, the FAA S-2B and the RAF Gulf War fits to be modelled as these are the decal options, in addition to the plane RAF 80's wersion with Martel/Sea Eagle that was in the original kit.

Italeri better watch out, someone with a stronger brand might very well be on their way to retaking a great share of the market  Im gonna get myself at least 4 of the new Bf-109s, if they turn out to be better than the Italeri -109

Didnt Heller "Crash & Burn"?  I thought I'd thought I read an article saying that Aifix had finally got its moulds back from Heller in France.
I think its been a while since they did much original work ( i stand prepared to be rebutted/reeducated)?

Hope your'e right "Trip". That 109 looks remarkably like the old one, maybe it's just the bomb, but I hope it is a new tool and not just a "cleaned up one" ? Same goes for the Hurricane IIC.

Is that so Thor?  Sounds like a winner - buy a bucc, whiff it anyway, get free pylons, sea eagle and martels for other kits.  I'm up for a small stack of these, and i'll use the martels and eagles from one on a TSR2.  Sea eagles would look good on a FAA A-7k too.

Heller has been in trouble (around the same time Airfix was, in 2006-7) but they did introduce some new stuff in 2008 (Ariane V with Jules Verne ATV, among others). Can't find any recent news, though. Their website seems to be down at the moment.

Supertom

New mold Hawks too?!  Looks like Airfix will be getting a lot of money this year.  ;D

They did state that these would be new mold, and they also mentioned re-releases and modified kits, which a cleaned up mold would fit in under.... (fingers crossed)

Thorvic, thanks for the Buccaneer info, have to get a few to stock up on weapons at the very least!
There's a lot of 1/72nd Airfix stuff I want, the Shars, Hawks, Caberrras and four PRXIX Spitfires for a thing I'm planning. I just hope they aren't going to be to expensive.
Some of the guys on Britmodeller have seen the 109 and it is definitely a new mould.
I hope Heller are still going because I was wanting the Lakota kit. Maybe Airfix/Hornby could buy up some of the moulds if they have gone bust. I had a link to their website but it's been dead for about six months.

I saw the made up examples at SMW Paul, must admit I didn't give them more then a cursory glance as I thought they were the old tools. There were a lot of gaps between wing and fusalage, but they were probably just "tacked" rather then glued properly. It's just that 109 just looks exactly like the old one down to the same gun pods and bombs. Now't wrong with that as I've very fond memories of that kit. When I discovered separately avialable "Transfer sheets" at BMW's of Wimbledon in the 60's I must have built a line up of 15 or more of them in all types of real national markings. That kit opened my eyes to the possibilities of modelling out of the box so to speak, so I'll always be gratefull to it

Someone told me the Spit XIX is the MPM kit ?

Haven't seen the MPM Spit but there is a build thread of the Airfix XIX on Britmodeller. Pretty sure they said it's a new mould. I'll have a mooch around and see if I can find it.
