TSR2 giveaway ín 1964 Comic

In case anyone remembers that far back I have tracked down the details of the comic that gave away a giveaway cardboard flying "model" of the TSR2!

It was the first edition of the "Hurricane" published on 29 February 1964.  The model is  based on early drawings of the TSR2 and is v crude.  However, if anyone has one the comic and model are worth upwards of 40 Pounds!

Flying model? You can make it home for nothing! B)

All that's needed is some balsa wood and a decent three view (not the Airfix magazine one!). Joe, would you perchance have such a drawing?

I've been considering a flying TSR 2 for a while. Trouble is it doesn't lend itself to free flight at all, and the only one I've seen was a ducted fan RC model. Even that had enlarged wing area.
The thing is it has aboslutely no lateral stability. There's no dihedral and the tips are turned downwards. The only way to achieve dynamic stability would be to set the tips at a negative angle of attack, but this would remove even more area from the lifting surface. The best I could do is make the CG low on the fus and hope for the best!

A free flight, Jet-X powered Phoenix would kick donkey, although it may well be reduced to ashes by the rocket motor. On some website I saw an old Jetex Fairey FD2 kit, which had an internal motor cooled by intake air and used the augmenter tube, a kind of crude ram jet. I'd love to do a TSR 2 like that. Would have to start at chuck glider level though to get the set up right.

When I've earned a fortune making Secret Things I've a mind to make a twin turbojet, RC TSR 2 and have a crack at the RC world speed record!
