The biggest whiff?

The Rat

I'm looking for some motivation for getting our basement crawlspace cleared out, it's about 5'5" high and a fair size junk collector. So what did I come up with?

HMCS Habakkuk, based on the pykrete dreams of Geoffrey Pyke. It would be BIG, and 1/144th scale is the only reasonable option, even at that it would be 13 3/4ft by 2ft, although being entirely hypothetical the dimensions could be modified if necessary.

The hull? I'm thinking of some sort of foam. The aircraft? Well there are a few Allied WWII fighters in that scale, one Lancaster that I've heard of (Academy?), and some American bombers too. One problem may be decals, I'm not sure what's available in that scale but you can't have dozens of aircraft with the same markings.

The whole shebang would hopefully be easily taken apart into sections and transportable to shows, where the wonderful world of whiffery could be promoted to the great unwashed.

Workable?

yes, its nice to see another person willing to take on the challenge of a 1/144 aircraft carrier
if your looking for aircraft, Minicraft has a wide selection of fighters in that scale.
looking at the P-47, P-38, P-51D, Spitfire, Avenger, zero, B-26 marauder, B-25, Lancaster......

workable?
yes, RC boatbuilders do it all the time.

for exsample the 1/144 kuznetsov

or you could take insanity to the next level with a 1/72 version

B777LR

1/144 escort carrier with submarine and Catalina:

The museum (egeskov castle) also had a 1/144 supercarrier. You will have to ask someone else what carrier it was though (was it Nev or GTX or someone else whom remembered?).

The Habakkuk?

Wouldn't you have to keep it in a BIG frdge all the time though? :)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)
