Robert,

That's fantastically brilliant!

Now it's all done I can where you were going with all that masking tape too. Quite how you could plan THAT far ahead in the paint job defeats me, I'm sure I couldn't do that sort of chess game thinking.

The end result is quite awesome, I'll have to check my lawn for incoming flights every time I leave the front door now.  <_<
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Kit

Great backstory and a beautiful model. I really like the colour scheme.

Great work Robert!  Crazy scheme, but nicely done!
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

You should put those last two pictures on an aircraft spotting site (after photoshopping out the stand...)

This has got to be one of my favorites and an awesome display of your incredible talent, Robert! Your modifications look perfect and the camo scheme is a real display of your imagination and amazing artistic ability.

Wow! :o That turned out great! The camo looks fantastic!

Are the undercarriage legs long enough to provide clearance for the props?  They look a tad on the short side, but maybe I'm just thinking of the pretty long legs of the Pucara.
Cheers,
Moritz

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

Thanks,  I had to snip about 8 scale inches of the tips of the blades which are originally for the Pucara/Jetstream models, for it to clear the fuselage, this allowed a ground clearance of about the same with the wheels I put on it which are smaller in diameter by about 1/16th to what was supplied in the kit.  I went with smaller wheels because the Astazou goes over the wing and the wheels have to fit under it.

This should show how it ended up but unfortunately I can't turn the prop so a blade is in the vertical because in the end I had to glue them in place;

This angle helps a lot. :) Looks like they're long enough.

Yeah, that is just right, Robert.  Superb job.  Innovative and unique while carrying your trademark air of complete believability (don't know if that's a real word but it's yours, now).

Kudos, Acreage Man.

Very nice piece of kit Robert
I think the makers of real tree and advantage timber will be giving you a ring soon, to add your camo scheme to theirs.

Thanks very much guys, all your comments are really appreciated.

Robert

I found another photo of when I tested the prop clearance, back before it was painted.

Very nicely done Kitnut, turned out great! Would have been a very useful plane for a bush war. I wish Airfix would repop the Beagle so I can have a go!

Lovely aircraft concept (similar to the Bronco in some ways) and beautiful paintwork: excellent job!
