F-107G Ultra Weasel

A very simple CFH (Counter Factual History), the F-107 won out over the F-105 Thud.
When the first F-100F Wild Weasels proved so successfull the follow-up Wild Wesel 3 was clearly going to be based on the TF-107F platform.
So take one Trumpeter kit (1/72) and build a two seater.
The cockpit tub comes from a Monogram F-105G Wild Weasel Thud, as do the ALQ-38 ECM blisters.
The wing pylons, and wing tips are from an ERTL F-100F.
The rest you will have to wait and see, and as I have said before, I am a slow builder so do npt hold your breath in anticipation!

That looks pretty darn smart, even better than the single seater!

Will the F-105G canopy fit, and do you plan to open it vertically like the real F-107?

I've often wondered why they didn't hinge the '107 canopy to the side, like a Starfighter. That straight up and down linkage must have weighed a ton and made access really diffilcut for the pilot.

Um! The canopy will open. (Ha. Ha.), but on the model it will be closed. It has already been moulded.
I have wondered about that, though. I think it would have hinged sideways, and it would have been two seperate parts for front and rear seats.
