In the best kitbash/scratchbuilt category, and further evidence towards his "most improved" nomination, I present Overkiller and his HP-99

BDB does another kitbash with spats.  This one qualifies for the new Scaleorama category.

Alright, a few things of mine that got kinda missed - I asked Phil before nominating them myself, he said go for it.  So, here we go:

All can be found in partial work at least, here:  http://www.whatifmodelers.com/index.php/topic,21500.0.html

HIJMS Koya - a Japanese Panzerschiffe Experiment:

Tirpitzski - the Soviets raise the dead and revive her power:

Maximum Spruance - South Korean Non-VLS Sprucan with Maximum Firepower:

PLAAF Mi-24A Strike Hind - A Chinese capture and rebuild:

Kyushu F-3 - Japanese Gripen, with a twist:

F-14I Super Alicat - an Iranian Revival:

Just a few of mine to throw on the fire for this year.
Putty-fu, Scratch-jutsu and Bash-chi, the sacred martial arts of the What-If. Mastering them, is Ancient Chinese Secret.

Just your friendly neighbourhood Mad Scientist and Ship-whiffer.

Overkill? Nah, it's Insurance.  So are the 20" guns.

I was thinking about what PhilP said when I propsed a Figures GB (ie: That without one there might not be enough fodder for the Figures whiffy), so I decided to go and rummage around the site and find elligible figures to enter.
First we have two of mine;
The Reaper bugbear shaman

And the Ogre prison guard

Then we have Proditor's Hall o' Justice collection
which could either be treated as one entry on it's own or broken up into specific figures, depends how the whiffcademy feels I guess...

The search function found forty pages of results for the word 'figure', most of which where along the lines of '...go figure' at the end of a sentence. I can't really be bothered looking through the whole lot. However, I did get to thinking - we need to think laterally on this one - not just figures as models in their own right, but figures as parts of diorama, or pilot figures in aircraft could be included if we are running low. That might work.
Anyone who finds more figures to enter which I have missed (and I'm sure I have missed something somewhere!) please let the whiffcademy know via this thread. Remember, the Whiffies are your awards too, you really should support them!
There are no good kits, bad kits or grail kits, just kitbash fodder.

PW,
Thanks for the boost here, I also don't see much for this year unless the Hall of Justice gets several entries (there are several builds mentioned so I am ok with that).  We have allowed figures from dios in the past so I see no problem with that.

So, you people who actually know how to paint figures including Warhammer, etc, post some up and/or let us know where the good figures are.

I am hoping to finalize this years Categories this weekend so that the list will be out before Christmas.

There have been a bunch of great builds in the last couple of months that have not gotten a nod here.  Don't let your best or your favorites miss out on the opportunity of a lifetime (or at least this year).

By the way, nice Ogre PW.

Most of my figures are in a box right now.  I thought of doing a few new ones, as well, but I'm currently waiting on the thought of that for a good opporotunity.

Well, if I'm allowed to toot my own horn from the Hall of Justice thread (http://www.whatifmodelers.com/index.php/topic,26344.0.html), I'd submit three entires.

Union Jack because he looks cool and I like painting the flag.  ;)

The Supreme Soviets, if for no other reason than Ursa Major (the bear guy) started out as the Blob.  Lotta putty on that guy!

And Canadian Shield since they were my attempt (successful if I do say so myself) to make a Canadian team that wasn't the syrup and hockey-puck patrol.  And yes, there is a mystical Mountie, but I believe he is counterbalanced by having a Super-hero speedster form Canada, named the Arrow.

(I hope I did the links right...)

Here's another one for Best Egg-Beater, KiwiZac's Bristol Type 147 Bludgeon:

Seems slightly un-Scottish to nominate your own kits (we're such a shy, retiring people ), but if nobody else is going to - - -

The BICh-110 from the "Sovietize  It" GB (kitbash? conversion? best use of a Frog Sea Vixen?) and two Sovietized Mistels.

And while I'm at it, on the "might as well be hung for a sheep as a lamb" principle, there's always the Chinese MiG-17 torpedo bomber - alternate markings? camouflage? most implausible use of a torpedo?
