I'm in foam heaven!!!!

Hansjoerg, your scratbuilding-do is strong!!!!

Very beautiful model, Hans. The level of detail you accomplished here is worthy of praise.

But it is no big deal!!!  really

1 are you able to get 6mm Depron (1250mmx800mm x6)

5 min Epoxy Resin
Uhu Creative / Uhu Por
1 K PU Glue
some sharp blades
some Tesa clear duct tape "ultra strong"
and a heatgun!!!

a sheet of Plywood and 2 sheets of foam ( some Carbon rods )

that is all!!! - the material is below 20 Euro over all!!!

I show you something about ...

Here is the simplified CAD proposal of the FW190 Dora

It is really easy ... so easy that a buddy and my built a Mitsubishi Raiden within 2 days .. started at NY eve and finished 1.5 days later.

Rafael

Thanks for the comprehensive tutorial, Hans!!!

That really sums up how to properly do a plank on frame model. Depron is really suited up for that chore, as I see in every RC forum I visit.

One thing comes to mind: The barenaked model's outer skin looks glossy, almost brilliant. Is that a Hardening/protective coat?

What is that made of?, Epoxy?

I would like to do something like that, but I can't use fiberglass because of health, space and ventilation issues.

It is just the luminance of the Depron ... no additional protection ...

I thinner the acrylic color ( deco style for brush)
by using an acrylic base for wallpaper protection
( down to airbrush visco)  this seals the surface and hardens it a bit!!!

So I arranged the cables.... and cut out the accu cover...

No I 'll have to order some 9 Gram servos and a Motor ESC combi .. to get her into the air...

(Yesterday I bought the colors for the scheme ( Splitter / Light Grey/ Dark Grey....)

What comes up is the question ..

WHAT next IF I finish this ?!?

Ideas are very much appreciated ... but..

...has to be a plane ...

... Has to be a warbird...

...should be able to fly ...

...in a controlleable way ( no "lerche" or "Wespe" or "Natter" or another suicidal box plane

...rare...

...propeller driven is preferred but not necessary...

Hope you have some Ideas for me!

My spidey-sense is tingling...need to learn more about how you create your fantastic flying model bodies.

Depron....gotta google that one.

So much to learn, so little German in my vocabulary (and my English ain't so great, either!).

This is so enlightening.  Those videos of your contra-rotating props are so cool----you can practically feel the power of those props!
Styrene in my blood and an impressive void in my cranium.

Optimist

Perhaps google Depron & Optimist ... perhaps you will find some hits about my projects

Alternatively Styrene Fams: you could goolge Depron ; Blucore; FanFold; Extrupor; Selitron; selitac ; Saarpron, Celitron

Oh, all sorts you can do, either prototypes or projects!  Just for starters, these are ones that flew.  I'm sure we can suggest plenty of paper projects if you want them too:

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Rafael

See?

Watching what fellows abroad have been able to do (masterfully, I might add) with Depron foam, I started to go that way. But sadly, I can only find EPS (expanded polystyrene) here. You'll be amazed seeing what can be done

The Westland is defintely not my thing Face of a Lysander and the ... of a Lanc?!?

The Airacuda looks nice but is twin mot, which is too expensive at the moment!!

Same a s M39 sweet design rare - unconventional but twin .. Means 150 Euro just for Motor and ESC...

I've heard that said before about the P-12!  Yes, it's a Lysander with turret in the tail which is very similar to one from an Avro Lancaster.  The idea was for an aircraft that could strafe enemy troops as they landed on the beaches.  It started with a Lysander with a conventional turret in the fuselage, but the arc was restricted.  Then the 'Pregnant Perch', a Lysander with a gunner in the belly, again the arc was restricted.  The P-12 was more radical & had an entirely new rear which allowed a much greater arc of fire to allow the turret to be used both in strafing & self defence.  As the threat of invasion dissapeared, so did the need for the P-12.

So unconventional single engine propellor warplanes, I'll see what I've got!  In the mean, here's a few links that might prove useful:

Mossie! Thanks for the additional links!

I new Luft46, but the Flitzerart site was totally new to me!!!

.... I guess ... I found, what I was searching for !!! It is impeller, but single and
although I love planes with good efficiency..... I think I will try this...once!!!

Thanks for your support!-- I will start a new thread for this!!
