Dig the tail !  Oh boy, the sanding...

Sauragnmon

That dogtoothed tail does look pretty damn sweet, STS.

Thanks y'all ;D Here is an example of how my weirdness evolves . I have had this in mind since before I started this build but I just decided to pull the trigger today. It took a combination of factors ,one was actually getting the parts of the build together so I could see the relationships and the other was the thread about the Marines getting F-22's. So now we have the Spectre Marine support AC with VECTORED THRUST and FORWARD LIFT JETS

While not designed as a hoverjet the F-45 Spectre exhibited several unique abilities among naval aircraft. With it's vectored thrust engine nozzles and forward lift jets it could take off from a carrier runway fully loaded, with no catapult, and no ramp. While not as fast as the Phantomstar it's huge radar and longer ranged weapons made it an excellent fleet defence interceptor and its vectored thrust abilities gave it great dogfighting capabilities. As a support craft for ground troops and a strike aircraft it was unequaled with it's ability to stay airborne at speeds as slow as 45 mph . It's 2 25 mm gatling guns and it's ability to utilize it's integral targeting equipment with stand off missiles gave it superior punch against both armor and radar sites.

Hmmmm lift jets and vectored thrust - you also avoid pop stall problems at the same time.  Hovered landings have that potential problem, especially the lift jet designs, as all that hot air too close to the main intakes can cause the engine to just give out on them.  Not pretty to say the least.  Yours on the other hand gives it a very nice STOL capability.  Going to give it arrestor gear as well, and the heavy legs for carrier landings?  I'd dare to venture if you doubled the MLG wheels, you could pull it off as a good all around fighter, as you can take it off on harsher runways and shorter runways, maybe even highways.  The lift jets look good - where's your intake for them though, chief?

The intakes will be a set of flush louvers here behind the cockpit

But as you can see I got a ton o sanding and carving to do before I install them.
I figured with the low speed capabilities I could no longer stand not having leading edge devices so now she has em ;D

Ron, I am starting to think that you really enjoy the fumes given off by all of that putty you are using for these projects.  Really impressive so far.

Thanks Jeffry  ;D I love the smell of putty in the morning  I am thinking of installing the ECM stuff on top of the Eagles vertical stabs in the dogtooth of the tails  Alternate install would be the dogtooth on the wings ala Viggen.  What y'all think?

I just love the sleek look of this bird, Toolslinger! She screams speed!

P.S. I couldn't help notice that rather full ashtray in the shots. I average about three to four full ashtrays a finished project, depending on how well things cooperate.

Yeah getting 22 freakin 3/8'' x 0'' manipulaters glued onto the exhaust cans took like half a pack :banghead: :banghead:
( go back and look at the vectored thrust nozzles)

You're the soul of patience! Facing that kind of detail work would be enough for me to slap a prop on the nose and call it done! My hat's off to you.

Well I just started sanding this putty sucking freak so I'll need to empty the ashtray soon ;D
