So any aircraft... I could do a 109K in Lozenged German camo, with Iron Crosses instead of the gammadions?

I already know my Heresy Lightning would be an entry into this madness.

I Was thinking of taking a Huey and putting an MG-3 on the door mounting... does that count if I put it in German colours?

I dunno what else to add here... I can think of other stuff!

Why not give it a German piston engine?

Hmmm.... one of the earliest projects I came up with on here is a turboprop Bf-109 with slightly swept wings modified from Me-262 outer panels, the idea being that, rather than extend the nose to restore the CofG with the lighter engine, they fitted new wings to move the centre of lift backwards instead. I had intended it for Patchwork World, but it could just as easily fit in here....

Some Luft '36 ideas:

1. Updated Junkers J10 armoured attack aircraft with more powerful engine, retractable/spatted gear and enclosed cockpit: a German Sturmovik instead of the Hs129, essentially. Alternatively, make it too big and heavy for it's engine by adding extra stuff and crew and it becomes a German Fairey Battle.

2. Operational Fw-187 or alternative: a German Whirlwind instead of the multi-seat Bf-110

3. A light zerstorer, based on an Fw-189 with a fighter-style pod, the whole thing resembling a mini-P38. Gotha submitted some plans for light, twin-Argus zerstorers, but not twin-boom.

4. German turret fighter (Defiant style), either single or twin engined. The Arado E500 twin-boom project with 2 x twin 20mm turrets was a real project of this nature.

5. Extending the above idea, a multi-turreted battle/escort aircraft, similar in concept to the Bell Airacuda.

6. Aircraft (any mission) with engine/engines in the fuselage driving props on the wings via drive shafts. A number of such proposals were put forward pre-war, but none built.

7. Canard bomber or turret fighter based on the Fw-42.

8. Updated Ju-52 with powerful engines and retractable gear as a 3-engined bomber.

9. Four-engined heavy bomber. Real projects were the Ju-89 and Do-19. There's the Revell kit of the Ju-290, various kits of the He-177 which could be converted to four separate engines (He-277) and the Fw Condor, of course. Alternatively, you could double up the engines on an He-111/Ju-88/Do-17, or "Germanize" an allied 4-engined heavy (Lancaster or Stirling would be good, because of their "greenhouse" cockpits).

Oooo there's some beautiful thoughts in there....

I propose there be two main categories:

Alternate-background Luftwaffe planes, for the aircraft that are, for example, existing Luftwaffe in an alternate history - Iron Crosses welcome, modifications optional, but basically make it a Kaiserliche plane.  Could also include modified existing Luftwaffe planes.

Germanize It - For the heretics abound (yes, you know who you are) who think it might be interesting to take an aircraft you like, and make a German version of it - 601's on a P-38, 605's on a Lancaster, Germanize an Il-2, or have at it what you will, just so long as it Wasn't German before, and IS German afterwards.

I have been wanting to paint a Tomcat as a night fighter  ( I had some moral qualms about this then remembered that this "American legend of the skies" is now only flown by Iran and didn't mind as much after that ) Love the more open idea as well, I have been trying to save (and even sell a few kits) to get my hands on the new academy F-22 with the idea of putting it in Hartmann's Black Tulip scheme as a luft 1964 idea...

It's a big, wide world out there...so if it's all the same to you I'll just stay indoors!

Ooooooo... That is a pretty idea... a Luftwaffe Raptor.  Yeah, I can see the beauty in that.  If I recall, one of the squadrons retained his black tulip after he commanded them.  I might have mussed that detail, though.

Almost makes me want to take a modern triplane and Red Baron it.

Go for it!  Just seemed kind of logical I had been wanting to put Luft markings on modern jets and i kicked around either doing a Hartmann Tomcat, Flanker, or F-22... just kind of seemed appropriate that he would get (Possibly) "the worlds greatest fighter" with the F-22... Might even scale o rama it, but then i could just use one of the Italeri 1/48 ones with modifications to correct its shape (Im no rivet counter, but shape is important to me for some reason)...maybe even the Testors 1/32 version but that would take a TON of corrections. and you are right Saur,

cool models here:

I was wondering about putting that scheme on a F-102, it was used on a Sabre IIRC.

Just don't put it on a F-104 - he was dead against them!

I thought Yellow 13 from the game Ace Combat 4 looked good with the a very "eastern front" look:

Someone did a 109 in Yellow 13's markings:

Well I have my 4 engined bomber based on two italeri zwillwing kits that needs to be finished. It was started about 4 years ago!!!!!!!

All the hard work is essentially done. I just have to get off my arse and get it moving again.

Thinking early urals bomber used as a stop gap before the later heavies come along.

Get this Cheese to sick bay!

West German?  I did this 1/144 Marineflieger Hornet as Tornado no-show/Gina replacement a while back, I've been wondering about reprising it in 1/72.

Or I could ressurect this old girl that only got half done for the last Secret Santa build.  It pretty much bit the dust after I trod on the canopy, I can't think of anything else that could replace it.

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.
