who says soccer fields are only for playing soccer, its also a great place for seaking demonstrations
the town of Koksijde started a new cultural project, and to start it off, there was a seaking demo.
its quite scary when your only 10 meters away from it

Similar thing happened when I was at school about 20 years ago.  Prince Andrew touched down on our footy field in a Lynx, it was part of a Royal Navy recruitment drive.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Sigh, why do they never do that around here? :(

Only chance an EH-101 might land in Ringe, would be a medical evacuation to Copenhagen...

I had pics I lost in Katrina, of a Harrier setting down in a parking lot at a local shopping mall, and our high school football and baseball fields being used for MEDEVAC when the Pope visited NEw Orleans back in 1984.  The local guard unit was using every football, baseball, and playground hat was free of powerlines to evacuate people that collapsed from the heat (it was over 100*F the week that John Paul visited NO), and there were at least 40-50 dustoffs that landed at CHS Stadium.

When the Harrier left (it was for a USMC recruiting drive), nobody sprayed down the asphalt parking lot.

Just for reference, burning asphalt STINKS!

I was working for British Rail in the 70s around the time they held the Trans-Atlantic Air Race. No 1 Sqdn RAF entered two of its Harrier GR1s and the plan was them to operate from the coal-yard (Yes really.....) at St. Pancras Station in London. As it happened I was at the Station they day they did the first trial flight from there.

You have NO idea how much coal dust a Harrier can lift into the air on take-off, even when the coal-yard has been disused for some years!  :o

The whole place vanished in a MONSTER black cloud well over 100 ft high. The Harrier appeared out of the top of it, twirled to the right and vanished off back to Wittering. Very impressive, and it worked as they subsequently won the Westbound race in a time of 6 hr 11 min approx.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model
