All this praise will go to my head. (Why isn't there an emoticon for blushing?) thanks guys.  ;D

I've just finished decaling it, phew, does my back ache?! Sadly my homemade red '204' numbers fell apart and had to be binned, so Modeldecal came to the rescue with some big white ones instead. You can't win 'em all.

Final piccies when I have the landing gear, canopy and weapons installed.

Robert, I'd heard rumours about the Airfix PR9 and Hannants have it listed under 'future releases' at £12.99. Plus a B(I)8 at the same price too! I can see numerous conversion companies checking out their old moulds for 'goldfish bowl' nose conversions.  -_-
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

OK, job 99% done. I've got to Kleer coat it yet, and maybe add the HF aerial at a later date, but the MR23 is done and dusted.

I've added an IFR probe, uploaded the weapons, 2 Sea Eagles, am ALAARM, an ALQ-10 pd, and a Mk 46 and a Sea Skua training round in the bomb bay. And at last I've managed to get the canopy to stay on, at the fourth attempt!

I've posted a back story in 'Aternative History' and I'll cross link it back to here.

Mike,

You want me to go through all that PSR work again? ???>:(

This was a Matchbox PR9 to start with, one of their Trenchdigger's worst jobs to my mind. Perhaps if the forthcoming Airfix one is better I might do it. The Xtrakit one is too expensive to play around with really.

In fact this aircraft would have been in hemp operationally, but was done up in the 'Shackleton' type scheme for the Squadron's 80th Anniversary.

there you go, now you have to do one in hemp!  ;D

actually I'm thinking of doing a US Navy B-57 as per Jenning's profile of a few years ago...
