Saw this on Kampfgruppe 144 a couple of days ago, A Model are doing an F-4J  Phantom in 1/144th. http://kampfgruppe144.blogspot.com/2009/02/1144-f-4j-phantom-ii-by-model.html

Judging by the price of their Lancaster it could be expensive.

Was looking at Hannants future releases section and found a 1/144th Canberra B.20/B.62. Didn't know this was coming out. http://www.hannants.co.uk/search/?FULL=AMU14428

That piccie of the box top is weird. It has PR9 wings with the extended chord inboard of the engines, looks like extended tips too, as in the PR9, but it has a glazed nose and a rotating type bomb-bay like a B-57! It's an all-in Canberra Whiff right out of the box.

Wow, looks like A Model have significantly improved the quality of their moulds. The Yak-28 I have is terrible...

I have a few of A models kits both built and in the stash, they are all really bad kits, and the price is ridiculous. Ace are the same, how they can call themselves that is beyond me??

Interesting price comparison between the US ($17.95) and the UK (£16.40).......  :o

Is this Hannant's 'flexible pricing policy' again, or HM Customs skimming too much off the top? After all the kits come from Russia, and not via the USA.

I have the Voyager kit, and that's not too bad apart from depicting the aircraft during one of the umpteen test flights, and not the record breaking flight. The Global Flyer would make a nice companion.

Interesting Kit, but Hannant's will have Duty (for HMC) and then VAT. I'm never certain with US website how they deal with Local Sales Tax for US residents ? Probably fairer to compare Hannant's price to non EU (exc. VAT)

As for A Model some of their stuff is  :banghead: yes but some of the newer is fine. They do have a problem with the maximum size of their moulds though which leads to multi part fuselages etc.

I've heard horror stories about Ace so never bought anything. Shame as they do stuff I like.

Wing span for a 1/72 Spruce Goose is 54", if this is true I'm glad I didn't buy the vacuform moulds that Heavy Kits had for sale last year.

I've got that kit!  Got it in a shipment from someone in the Ukraine from eBay.  Actually the prices were downright cheap in most cases, and average in others.  I wouldn't pay more than "average" for a newer Amodel kit.

Yeah, they're Amodel, but I got what I expected, having built a few already.  I know they're challenging, but they all become Whifs for me, so I'm happy to have kits of subjects no one else does.

Back to the above kit, I was thinking of some sort of non-US/non-Russia U-2/TR-1 type plane, or a manned equivalent of a Global Hawk (got Rutan's Voyager kit for a similar purpose).
