Well, just to make you feel inadequate in the wallet department Kit, it's $370 with $50 postage, around £240/£275 after postage.

I was thinking/dreaming of splashing out on the Brabazon kit, but I think that idea has taken a knock seeing that price!!!
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

JJC

wish i could afford one of those but even if i could, where would you put it?

Now if A-Model could see their way clear to a 1/72 TU-144....

Dare I point you at the Bra.Z Tu-144? It's 1:144, but pretty big even in that scale. Also likely to induce sticker shock (€ 120). And it's one fabulous-looking kit.

My reply concerned the previous earlier link to the Airshipmodellers site, not the HK-1 on ebay..........

That's odd. Have you tried clearing your cache and history, all the usual stuff?
It's possible that there may be a local propagation problem.

Yeah, done all that stuff, but still no joy. I'll try again after I come back from holiday, all sorts of things could have changed by then.

Ok, no problem.  ;D

I have at last managed to get onto the airshipmodellers site, and fascinating it is too. Even they are boggled about the possible A Model 1/72 Hindenberg, perhaps it'll have one of their fibreglass fuselages, like their IL-76? An injection moulding die for the envelope parts would weigh well over a ton I reckon!

It's going to be interesting when I get around to building the An-22 I have.  A real multi media kit this is.

I would think a 1/72 Hindenberg done in fiberglass could be fairly workable & relatively light with the right supporting structure. For huge 1/72 models, I remember a 1/72 USS Nimitz Aircraft Carrier back in the mid '80s. I saw a couple of articles & it was about 15' long x 4' wide. IIRC it was sold in 3 hull sections & the island & other details. You provided the plywood for the deck on your own. I'm thinking it was in the US$800 range then.

Modeling Madness has a link to Scale Model Kits latest release list and there appear to be two 1/72nd Vampires I hadn't heard about from AModel, a Mk.1 and a Mk.6. Anyone know more about them?

Interesting, the Mk.6 box art says it's a de Havilland Canada version but shows a Swiss built version.  de Havilland Canada though, never built the Vampire as far as I know.
