I'd really like to get my hands on some of those 144th scale Caribou kits, especially the air-cushion one. Elm City Hobbies used to have them, but I think he's dropped the range.

Got most of my A Model kits from Hannants when they had them on sale a few years ago. Two C-8 Buffalo at about £6-£8 each, two Yak 130's at about £10 each and a Ka 15 with floats for around a fiver. One Buffalo is supposed to be real world, maybe Brazilian, and the other is supposed to get the VTOL treatment or be a Naval COD plane.

I never understood why Revell didn't do a new 1/72 Bo 105. They've released enough boxings of their EC 135 and 145 to cover just about every possible police/law enforcement, air ambulance and military version flying in the German skies. They could do that again with a new Bo 105, plus a host of really neat special liveries applied to Bundeswehr Bo 105s.

The COD standing for cruiser onboard delivery in this case, of course.  Have the cruiser steam into the wind and gently put down the Buffalo on the helo deck. Take off in the same manner, with the cruiser accelerating and slipping out under the climbing Buffalo.

LOL Moritz! You probably could land one on a cruiser helipad! I saw them do almost a vertical take off and landing at Farnbourgh one year when it was very windy. I swear it seemed to barely roll forward on take off and hardly moved at all on landing. Very impressive!
A 1/72nd Bo105 seems a much better idea for Revell than the Notar MD520 they've got coming soon (though I'll be getting a few!) Want an EC120 too.
Must admit the yellow Canadian Buffalos look great Caoptain Canada.Do you know if Viking are going to build any new ones? Only real replacement for a Buffalo is another Buffalo, same as DC-3's!

I've got the air-cushioned one: looks okay in the box, though like any A-model kit, that might change when you actually try to put it together... I'm waiting patiently for them to do the QSRA one, so I can combine the two...

Been in a 'bou when it's done both short take offs and landings.  Those big radials churning are pretty satisfying.   I've seen one land and take off from a parade ground, which was pretty good going, I thought.

Seriously though nice to see a small soviet Airliner readily available and affordable, offers some Whiff potential for both civil and possible military use.
