Would it surprise you to know the scheme was designed by one of the Weta Workshop team? I love seeing it at airshows on static, it's a very neat-looking machine.

And no, I'm nowhere near brave enough!

I spent a lot of my youth reading Heinlein.  On my weekly visits to the public library as a kid the 'H' section was the first place I checked.  Of the later stuff I prefer Number of the Beast to Stranger but my favourite of them all is Starship Troopers.  I was so disappointed by the movie.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Short thread-jacking here (no more by me after this, I promise).

The Moon is a Harsh Mistress is probably my favourite, followed by Starship Troopers (Amen, Brother! ), followed by, I think, Job.

Maybe we need a new thread to follow up on this conversation?

Daupins have skis, this has retractable uc.

However, it could be a neat basis for a Soviet "Airwolfski"

Have to disagree there Lee, the Dauphin has retractable wheels. I have never seen one with skis.

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Is it one of those that is shown in the photo on the box of the kit?
Although I do not think so as the pattern of cabin windows is more like the Kamov than the Dauphin.
