Ski Dauphins were used as Russian heli's in Octopussy, one O/A Red (Bond Helicopters) and the other O/A (Olive?) Green.

Paul Harrison

Thanks for that, found them on impdb:

Crazy how different today's version looks than that spatted one !

The earliest models were single engine too so look quite different.  I think there were spatted versions of the Dauphin 2, but I'm not certain.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Wow there's a lot of stuff in that flick ! Love the modified Hunter !

It's a great site, excellent reference for any movie planes.

ONLY A Model could produce that!  ;D

A Learfan, cracking!

Lovely looking aeroplane, and suitably weird enough to attract the likes of us as it's eminently WHiffable! A pity it never made production but weirdness always counts against being accepted.

The Lear 55C has two boxings, one as Gates and one as Bombardier. I assume just a decal change?

I reckon they must had had an ex-Gannet propulsion system engineer on the Learfan job. It has two engines but geared to only one prop, and either or both engines can drive it. And it pushes as well, magic stuff.  ;D

I see the Learjet 55's quite a bit at YYC.  Doesn't the Learfan prop have a very Griffon Spitfire look to it

It only has four blades AFAICS, although most pics on the Net show it airborne.

What, you mean they haven't gone to eight scimitar-shaped blades, yet?
