Here's a bit of an update with piccies.
Here's the Dornier/Firefly tail.

The next shows some parts that will make up the big cannon and the cockpit windows (Italeri pilot may be the pirate leader).

This one is the built cannon, sorry it's so blurry but this was the best out of 7 shots! I'm still struggling with this digi camera.

The last one shows the windscreen placed to show roughly what it will look like, it is scratched and has a glue smear but I can't be bothered cutting more bits (this stuff keeps shattering!).

I'm quite a bit further than these pics show.

I was planning to stick a Nebelwerfer in the big hole in the Stranraer;s back but it interfered with the prop so I decided to add a new Lewis gun position and fill the hole in.

The plane is almost finished but I couldn't find any good figures to crew it so nobodies home. Just a few touch ups, some windows and maybe a couple more guns and I'll be done.

Looks neat so far, Paul-keep at it!

Green Dragon

It's pretty much finished Doc, just waiting for some decent lighting conditions to take some piccies. Didn't quite turn out how I planned but it'll do! Really wanted that Nebelwerfer so I could say "Heave too ya scurvey dogs or we'll give ye a broadside!"  ;D

Nothing says " pleased to meet you" quite like a nebelwerfer, true...but with a little finese ( which you have in
spades ) the 57mm 'kromuskit' from the 1/35 Tamiya US Infantry weapons set can be faked up into a
passable Davis gun... ( and it becomes a destroyer-ish 114mm gun in 1/72...more or less  ;D)

Green Dragon

Thanks for the idea Doc, I've got a load of 1/35th Tamiya kits so I'll see if I've got one. Definitely got some Bazooka's, not too sure about the recoiless rifle though. 114mm gun would make nice big hole in a ship!

Here be me Sky Pirates Floaty Thing! Thanks to Doc Yo's idea I made some big guns from plastic tube. I made three but one fell in side and is now....err... safely stowed in the overhead storage rack!(along with a .50 calibre that also got stuck stored inside.) :banghead:
On to some pics. Overhead shot.

Front left shot.

And a closer front shot. Give 'em a broadside me hearties...Arrgghhh!

Hope you like it, was great fun to build as I haven't done a kitbash in about ten years! Loads more fun than following instructions!
I did make some Torpedoes but I figured it would be too much overkill and left them off. The new guns are about 2mm calibre so I think (when scaled up) they should be 144mm, close to five and three quarter inches!

If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

Nice one.  I like the camo.  Looks good on a sea plane.  Definitly looks like the "Scourge of the Sea".

This call for a double ration of Rum.   :drink:

We don't just embrace insanity here.  We feel it up, french kiss it and then buy it a drink.

That Just rocks!! I love the scheme, the emblems and the heavy weapons

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

Ahh, now that's coooool! Glad you got it finished Mine probably won't get done for the deadline, but I'm doing my best!
Some of my models can be found on my Flickr album >>>HERE<<<

Pirates would never use torpedos because they want to capture ships, not sink them, so you made the right call on this beauty.

In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.
