Captain Canada

The Korean War years were heady days for the RCN. With their 'front line' prop jobs thoroughly outclassed by Soviet and Allied jets.....

I started this puppy years ago ( I'm guessing 2002 ) and it was intended to be in a flying diorama with a RCN DC-6.

The red around the intake makes it look like it has a set of lips.  But it looks nice in the RCN paint scheme.

Hay Captain Canada
May I suggest that you paint your shed walls and ceiling a sky blue, add some cotton wool clouds.
This would complement your models and photos for you great display!

Nice paint scheme.

I guess you have the Korean War lasting past 1953?
The first FJ-4 prototype flew 28 October, 1954.

The more you see of the FJ-4, the more it makes you think that it looks better than any F-86.

I wonder if it was more aerodynamic being that shape, or did they just raise the cockpit so the USN 'Top Guns' of the period could see the deck more easily........
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Oh yeah, especially the final version, the FJ-4F.  ;D

The fuselage was redesigned to accommodate an almost 100% increase in internal fuel,
the cockpit positioning and angle was to improve the view for carrier approaches.

Thanks for looking, guys ! Just a simple build, but it was nice to finally get her done. I have to agree about the lip thing as well....almost enough to think about repainting it ! But what the heck, eh ?

I was thinking about painting the ceiling like that....a nice light blue sky. But it's not the shed, it's the basement !

Todd, your recent completeion rate is making the rest of us look bad. Please slow down. Thank you.

Fantastic job, BTW.
