Many congrats to all the winners and thanks to anyone who nominated me or voted for me. ;D :wub: :thumbsup: And to anyone who didn't vote for me.... :lol: :rolleyes: ef y'all :wacko: :cheers: Really though I feel that next year anyone nominated should be required to post pics of scantily clad  females to be their presenters :wub: :thumbsup:

We could always develop a sister board - one of those anime figure model boards - plenty o' scantily clad females there!
There are no good kits, bad kits or grail kits, just kitbash fodder.

Congrats to all who earned a Whiffie in it's first airing this year! Also like to give a big round of applause to Phil because I know this was a ton of work to keep sorted out!  :bow: To everyone who made this happen a big thanks, it was fun  ;D

You all took on a huge project with this year...hopefully, it will be simpler for you on the next!  Wonderful job, and if you really want semi dressed starlets, just let me know. :)

This is the sort of thing that really makes me love this site, it is just nothing but fun, and hashing up some kits to make something that hollyweird hasn't even dreamed of.

Wonderful.

I'd also like to thank the What If Academy, my mom, and my understanding wife. I have to go cry now, and take some percocets. Or white zinfandel. Or both.

Hey don't forget to add your 2 cents on something political too.  :rolleyes: (remember you build plastic models, which makes you qualified to solve all the worlds problems  ;D)

This was a great idea from start to finish and a huge undertaking, Thank you Phil for making this happen i know it was a lot of leg work  :cheers:

Congrats to all the winners, unbelievable job and excellent competition all around

Wow!!! Thanks folks - much appreciated.  honestly though, I have to thank the following members who made this possible:

John, aka Maverick;
Mark, aka BadersBusCompany;
Jeff, aka blackops;
Jon, aka joncarrfarrelly

and of course, Jeremy (aka Rallymodeller) whose idea it was to begin with!!!

Regards,

Greg

PS.  I would have posted pics of scantily clad females making political comments, but I like to leave that sort of thing to the Brits.

All hail the God of Frustration!!!

Excellent stuff! Congratulations all round I think...well done chaps.
It's a big, wide world out there...so if it's all the same to you I'll just stay indoors!

Congratulations all round - this really shows the depth of talent we have on this board.  I feared that Baz and Greg would sweep the board, but was delighted to see that they didn't.

A big round of applause to Philp for all his work in putting this together - hopefully a few lessons will have been learned and it won't be quite so much work next year ;)

Isn't there a Whiffie Award for Best Whiffie Award Acceptance Speech then?  :rolleyes:

Congratulations to all the winners, all the nominees and huge thanks to Phillip and the Academy for putting on such a splendid event!  :bow: :bow: :bow:

Duh........  :blink:

The significance of the date has just occured to me , the juxtaposition of the Oscars night (after the umpteenth repeat of 'Miss Kate's' speech on BBC1 Breakfast....) and the Whiffies night.......

What I want to know is where did the Whiffies' Red Carpet get to? And do we get to see photos of all the winners posing for the media?  ;D :lol:

Seriously though, a neat idea, and it all worked out wonderfully. Well done Philp and others on the team, and well done all the winners too.  :cheers:

Ladies & Gentlemen,

I just have a few words to say for my acceptance of this award.  First of all thanks to Phil for all the work setting up the 2008 Whiffies.  Thanks to Mom & Dad for having me,,(Hi Mom!).  Thanks to all the modelers I've know through the years who've helped me become a better modeler... (don't worry guys, I only have 10 pages of notes here I need to cover.)  Thanks to all the Whiffers who nominated my models and especially those who voted for them.  Congats to all the other nominees and winners.. Thanks to....

{rrrrrrriiiiiiippppppp -- the sound of numerous Whiffers destroying 10 pages of notes}...

And finally, Thanks to my wife for allowing me to hide at my hobby desk as much as I do...

:drink: :party: :drink:

We don't just embrace insanity here.  We feel it up, french kiss it and then buy it a drink.

Nice one Ed, in the true spirit of such an occasion. :)

I can almost see you standing up there on the stage shaking Philp's hand!

Congratulations to Phil for making possible this huuuuge work.

And congrats, too, to all the Whiffers. I feel that the items presented for vote were a real amalgamation of what this community's spirit is all about - having fun with our hobby and share our delicious moments of modeling joy with our friends worldwide.

Now, I ask you all to join me in this toast, raise your glasses.... :cheers: :cheers: :cheers: :drink: :drink: :drink: :party: :party: :party:

To a very friendly crowd, may the future bring more moments of happiness at your workbenches, whatever they are, and share the product with your on-line friends - Salud!!!
