Ok, yeah, so I got the kit...it is fantastic, yes. What a monster!

The problem is, I can't seem to find much relevant information about the development or deployment of the Type 61 twin barreled tank. I like the idea of doing it a "street fighting" mode, and would seriously appreciate some input from you gundam freaks out there!

(note: I am building this oob, but I would like some colour advice)

***incorporated link to the kit and your image of the kit in the box so we can see what you are talking about***

thanks for the link, the problem is, they all seem to just assume you know all about the tank.  What I need is a bit of substantial information about where it was deployed in one story or another.

Greg,
I prefer the Battletech Universe but do like the 35th scale vehicles Bandai have done (would love to see them in 72nd where I might be able to affored them).  According to Wiki, the best way to display a Type 61 is a smoldering wreck.  Also said used for convoy support and ambush.  Urban environment was also mentioned.

Do you have the hover truck to go with it?

Thanks !  I am kicking around the idea of doing a somewhat "splinter" urban camo for a unit fighting in a city, where the tank would actually have a better mass ability, say from a hilltop, to hit the mobile suits of the enemy. I just don't know of any of the areas that fighting took place...such as Solaris Prime, the city of blahblahblah.
I need something from the gundam universe that is cohesive, and since I can't read japanese (what an idiot I am sometimes...I really do wish I could) I don't know half of what is out there.
The model built in Japan is in a bland desert tan,  there is no need to repeat that scheme.  Ideas and comments are most welcome!

Thanks for the 08 reference !  I found this:

I am torn between the arctic camo and the indonesian.

08th MS Team is a brilliant series (one of the best Gundam series in my opinion), and is set in a variety of locations, starting in the jungle, and including desert and urban battles as well. The best one IMO is the protagonists' squad against a Zeon ace, as seen here:

It's a great sequence, and shows one of the coolest (IMO) mechs in the universe, the Gouf Custom (the blue one with the monster gatling gun). A tank could be based in this area to support the artillery pieces involved in this battle..?
Some of my models can be found on my Flickr album >>>HERE<<<

very cool, and obviously the tank(s) that the model is based on.  I just can't read Japanese, so I have no idea what the heck is going on, or where they are.

Ya gotta see this, a 1/144th diorama set of a Zaku versus two of the tanks.
Complete with 'blowed-up' effects pieces, soldiers and two Wappa flying scout thingies.  ;D

I just looked on HLJ, and the Type 61 is a bit bigger.  The Tamiya M1A2 measures 38.3 x 24.5 x 6.8 cm, while the Type 61 in the same scale is 44.0 x 33.5 x 9.7 cm.

Not only massive, but quite possibly the best model kit I have ever assembled.  I am not kidding, the fit on this thing has to be seen and felt to be believed.  Now, you know I don't pull punches on reviews, this one is likely to be golden.
