Ohh Nev you're so sharp, tonight, you're in danger of cutting y'self !

Well it's Friday tomorrow and any sensible person coming-off a 12hr night-shift would usually head for their bed..... The key word here, folks is 'sensible'. I'm not a 'sensible' person, I'm a compulsive, obsessive model builder and as mentioned elsewhere, I'm away for two weeks from Sunday on an extremely intense, residential course - so no modelling for me for a while. Therefore instead of going to bed in the morning, I'm going to take full advantage of the fact that Mrs Hunter-Gatherer and Papa's tiny terrorists are at work and nursery respectively, and by 0930, I will probably be in the paint-shed throwing some white paint at the rear fuselage and underside wingtips in preparation for the yellow theatre bands that I might get sprayed on Saturday !

What Mr Jackson is not telling his awe-struck audience is that he actually gets to sleep for half his night shift..... ;)

Pre-shaded in Tamiya acryllic black, then Humbrol satin white 130 as a base coat for the Humbrol Matt 24 yellow theatre bands.

That's the last for while. Off on my course on Sunday, so no modelling or interwebbing for two weeks  :o

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

That's another 2 week's I'll have to waste...
You have hitted me with a black box- I'm not playing this game!.........

Got back to this, the T-28 and the model from Hell(er), the Alpha Jet. Pics later in the week, but looking quite promising.

Here's those pics I mentioned:- Xtracolour RLM76 for the underside and Humbrol H80 for the late-war light green. Looking OK at the moment, the pre-shading certainly seems to be working !

Nice to see you back mate, and nice faded look on that paint :)

Changed my mind on the paint; decided to go with the previously mentioned Humbrol H80 'Grass Green' for the lighter green and Humbrol H75 'Bronze Green' - VERY close (IMHO) to the late war RLM82 'Olivegrun'. Hopefully I can get it sprayed later today.

So here it all masked and ready to go:-

Question Ian, I'm watching how you do this, are you using 'Mask-All' on the areas inside of the tape ?
If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

Ian the Kiwi Herder

Yup, MASKOL - only use this when I have to cover very large areas or sections that are too awkward for Tamiya tape.

How does it peel off after you're done ? does it come off with the tape ?

.....Fingers and patience ! - however most of it will lift as I take the masking tape, sometimes the whole section simply rips away. Very simple stuff to use, but will easily destroy the bristles of a brush as you 'paint-it-on' - I use those dirt cheap kiddies ones you get from the newsagent for about .25p !!
