I just spied this over on... Amazon! Of all places.

1/72 Zvezda Ju-88 A-17/A-5 Torpedo Bomber

http://www.amazon.com/Zvezda-Models-Junkers-Torpedo-Bomber/dp/B004VUL1OY

That's about half off their "already low, low prices."

Zvezda's Ju-88s are among the best on the market in The One True Scale™

Over on eBay you can find this kit for anything less than almost triple the Amazon price.

So, buy early and buy often!

The Wooksta!

No, the Revell Ju 88 is the best money can buy at a comparable price to the Zvezda kit.

And it would be a day so cold in Hell that Satan would be dying of hypothermia before I'd buy ANYTHING from those tax dodging ****s at Amazon.

Anyone know if the 1/144 Hind is an exact scaled down version of the companies 1/72...?? Box art looks the same.......and at £6.50 (£5.85 cheapest I seen for a pre order).....that be a bargain.....!!! I have even seen them advertised for 3 for £16 at the Plastic Soldier Company....a flight box.....same with the Apache as well.....

Re the above question....all I found out is they are now in stock and are only 29 parts.....can't find an inbox review or screen shot of the sprue's anywhere......

I also haven't seen any pics yet, but a member on ARC saw them and said they were gorgeous. I suppose they will be dimensionally accurate, but not an exact scale down (engine bits and all) of the 1/72 kit.

The parts count ma be deceiving, as Zvezda also counts the base, flag and wargaming tokens as part of the kit. At least that's what they did with other kits in their wargaming range.

EDIT:
Just found the instructions for the kit on the Russian portion of the Zvezda website: LINK!
As I thought, it's not quite a detailed as the 1/72 kit, but should look the part. No troop cabin, though. And no rocket pods, just drop tanks and gun pods.
I've got a kit on the way to me and will report back once I have it in hand.
Cheers,
Moritz

Looks like a nice little kit ! Be hard to build a cabin tho, as the attachment points for the stub wings fill up the whole thing ! Still, I'm sure a with a few mods it would be easy enough.

As for rocket pods, don't the little Revell Alligator ( or Hokum or whatever it's called ) have them ?

I'd get one anyway....I think a 144th scale model of a big chopper like that would look awesome ! Especially all dirtied up and with those big droopy blades almost touching the ground.....

The Zvezda 1/72nd Topol mobile nuclear missile launcher kit is now out at Hannants and other distributors so I guess we'll see them in the shops and on eBay this week in the UK.

This also has a useful comparison of the other Mi-24 from the main players.

i have one of those in the stash, and i must say that despite it kinda looks (and in some cases is) a snap kit, it looks very good.
the size to scale appears to be correct, and the ammount of detail is pretty good.
the only thing i would suggest is replacing the rocket pods with those of the Dragon/DML or Italeri ones

That would make for a pretty cool kit. Not sure what I'd do with it tho.....
