They have announced a new tool C-130 apparently.

Good news, the old Esci/Italeri kit is okay but a new tool will be very welcome.  I expect they'll sell shed-loads.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

If it's moderately accurate & covers the right eras. ;)

The most accurate shapewise is the old Airfix kit (only one I have left is a USAF boxing partially started by someone off ebay), Italeri next with raised detail and engine nacelle position problems (got two or three somewhere), with Esci having recessed detail but a horribly rounded cockpit glazing piece (mine has very badly warped wings too!) so we really need a new tooling.

I remain to be convinced that Zvezda are doing a new tool C-130 Hercules, Its only been mentioned in a Russian forum and I know they class reboxed kits as new to them, so still a high chance or a reboxed Italeri kit.

Now I would love to see a new tool Hercules, the Airfix kit was one of my early Christmas Presents in the 70s and I loved it so I will be excited should it be confirmed. So I won't get my hopes up until we get official confirmation and start to see the CAD and test shots appear in the new year.

Is it cynical of me to sometimes think that kit manufacturers and after market firms are in cahoots ? I know sometimes it's a case of the manufacturer of the IP kit simply saying that the extra costs of tooling an internal weapons bay for example aren't justified by the extra sales that would generate. Thus they leave it to and liaise with an after market firm, but sometimes ?

I'm probably Just in an extremely cynical mood ?
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I don't think you are at all cynical, I've sometimes wondered about this myself.

The C-130 is on a list of upcoming releases that someone managed to sneak a photo of, rather than being an announcement. But it's welcome news!

Don't know if it's Italeri's kit still but the catalogue pic is of a J-30, some on Britmodeller say the quoted length is wrong though I haven't done the the math and I really hate math!

All I did was scale up x72 the length quoted on the thumbnail and compare with H and J lengths published online!

I am. 1/35 Typhoon class sub would be 5m long.  You could sit in it and paddle it like a kayak.

I've seen R/C 'model' boats like that, ones with their helmsman actually sitting aboard the boat.

And they STILL drove it with an R/C transmitter, for crying out loud!  :o
