Hey guys

Brendon Deere, owner of Spitfire IXC PV270/ZK-SPI, invited me over to RNZAF Ohakea today for a look at this honey of an aeroplane, set to fly in the next fortnight. I've followed her since she arrived in NZ in 2001/2, and I'm very VERY excited to have a Spit based less than an hour from home!

Just thought you might like a look

Thats some great modelling you've got there! Is it 1/1 scale? The rivets look a bit off though...

I wonder how long it will be before a JMN finds a fault in it?

If that Merlin was any more polished they'd have it in a jewellers!

I bet the aircraft is better built now than when it left the factory, fantastic stuff.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

This lady is so accurate and original, even the reflector gunsight is in working order! Not only that, she has hardpoints for 250lb bombs, and ALL fitting and plumbing for a slipper tank - including the jettison handle in the cockpit. A true work of art.

the wings are 1/32 inch to wide so try again and there are two many rivets on the port wing tip
Me, I'm dishonest, and you can always trust a dishonest man to be dishonest.
Honestly, it's the honest ones you have to watch out for!!!

Got an email from Brendon saying that unfortunately CAA couldn't come today as planned, but hope to be there to award a Permit To Test next Tuesday/Wednesday.
