Personally, I'd go with the Mexico/Cuba/Argentina one, because you can then swap decals with other trainer kits to make a whole range of whiffs, and arms dealing in those areas was/is so shady that they'd all be credible.

Me too. Middle/Latin America and the Caribbean deserve more whiffing attention!

That's what I went for in the end, for the same reasons you mention, great minds

Ordered it along with the Ca 311 by SH

Indeed: most people have a fairly accurate idea of what jet fighters each country has gone through, but piston-engined trainer? No chance.....

AZ's model of the Attacker prototype in on sale at Hannants, which brings the price down to the realms of the reasonable: £11.32.

Several of their MiG-17 kits have been discontinued and are on sale as well.

Two of the Huey Cobra kits have been discounted to £8.66:

The Wooksta!

The Attacker has all the bits for the later F1 on the sprues - the only difference in the kits is the later canopy on the FB2.  Good price, although I have more than enough and not to mention the 20 or so Novo ones in The Plan stash...

Nice to see that 'Whiffs in a Box' are becoming more common.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Captain Canada

I was planning on ordering a few 'joy packs' of the Cobra when I get home. What a great idea, especially for us whiffers !

Just stumbled across that offering... they were faster than me! I have a Czech Cobra on the To Do List, even though it will be a more modern AH-1S with some mods, not a stock AH-1G.
The Swedish one is nice, too!

Weaver

Don't think this is a new moulding but it might be a new boxing. Anyway, a 1/72nd Let-410 is a good thing of great whiffing potential, and it doesn't seem outrageously expensive either, considering the size of it.

If you could find the decals and the figures, you could always recreate this famous scene  :
