Looks ok to me.

To be honest I'm more interested in ease of build. If it goes together o.k. and looks right, that will do  Got one on pre-order and dependent on how well that builds, I have a couple of possible ideas.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

The Special Hobby one looks OK to me.  But I don't have Lee's eye for these things.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

It's a "fiddly" build at best, especially with all the resin parts. Certainly "limited run".

David Collins has given the photos the thumbs up.  If he says it's ok, then it probably is.

Hannants have informed me that the Hornets are in and they will be sorting my backorder out shortly

Goody, I ordered a couple of the PR version.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage

The only difference in the kits are the decals, it'll be the same plastic in each boxing.

I'm wishing now that I hadn't got rid of all me Special Hobby ones, just so I can can compare them.

I think I've got one at home, plus a couple of Skybirds86 ones and a couple of FROGs as well.

I'm still waiting for the pair from the Czech republic.

My two Hornet PR2s arrived today, and as The Wooksta predicted, the only difference between the PR2 and the others is the decal sheet.

From the three sprues in the box, the clear one being the canopy etc., you can build ANY single seater variant of the dh Hornet. You get both standard and dorsal fins, both sizes of tailplane, bombs, rockets and drop tanks and two undernose pieces, one with guns for the fighters and one without for the PR2.

What you don't get is any sign of the PR2's cameras, but that's what black decal dots are for I guess.

All in all it looks pretty good to me, but it'll be interesting to compare it with the sublime Skybirds versions when I get home.

The Wooksta!

A quick check of the fuselage against a Skybirds one indicates the latter is shorter.

Don't like the kit wheels and the tailwheel isn't an anti shimmy twin type, but that could be the limitations of AZ's moulds.

I'm not sure that there are any references as to precisely where the PR2s cameras actually were. I've got all the major Hornet references and none have that info.

Wiki says they were '...installed in the rear fuselage...'.

But with no guns in the nose you'd have thought that would given one hell of a CG problem...............
