Ah, for the days when defense planners thought big!

Park them on the deck, it says so in the book about all those madcap schemes. They weren't coming back anyway as the combination wasn't designed to land anywhere, even ashore.

Nothing defensive about it!

Brilliant release, renax.

Renaud,

My 1186c arrived at my doorstep today and it looks great!

You have any photos of its being worked up?  Those would help greatly in the assembly process of the kit.  The direction sheet is nice but...

Also, any suggestions on decals?

Piecing together the nose, main body, and tail of the missile portion makes for one helluva long bird!

Any suggestions for lining up the boundary splitters?

Thanks!

give me a few hours,
I will have a foto of an intermediate assembly step,
usefull one.

lining up the boundary splitters: the one of the pilot plane or the missile ?

Madoc

Renaud,

Excellent!  The more the merrier as every bit will help.

And the splitters on the missile.

Oh, and any suggestions on decal sourcing?

Thanks,

Madoc!

I have took the pictures,
will put them online tomorow.

For the decals, the ones like on the boxart are the most obvious,
very easy to find...

Madoc

Renaud,

That'd be great!

As to the decals, yeah, I figured as much.  I was hoping that there might've been A particular set which you knew of.  But, even in The One True Scaleā„¢, such decal sets are gonna be easily enough sourced.

And the paintjob is going to be a pretty direct thing as well...

renax

here are pictures to show the first step of assembly.

In this case, I have assemble only the top half,

so it stands easy on a flat table, and is more easy to align straight.

After, the pylon.

All the pictures are here:

I always kind of liked that.  I could see it in standard Luftwaffe markings...

Lancer, there are decals in the X-31 box,
but they are not Lufwaffe, they are EFM.
German decals are easy to find anyway;

For the Douglas 1186,

has made a decal sheet:
