This is the 1/35 Italeri M109 A6 built OOB, I originally started it for the Modern Armour GB over on BritModeller last year but was unable to finish it due to the christmas holidays and having to travel.

Decals are from the kit and the Echelon ASLAV sheet and the spares box, I decided a What-If Aussie version would be a little different :D Though this it could happen eventually as the Australian Army are currently looking to replace their towed artillery with a mix of SP and towed equipment.

Except that under Land 17 the vehicle will be either the AS-9 or PzH2000:

A PzH2000 was here in Canberra about 2 years ago for trials. Apparently the Dutch were trying to unload some second hand ones. The PzH2000 offer was turned down at the time, not sure of the reason. I suspect it was so other options could be evaluated.

I had a sand painted M109 on the bench that needed to be finished and I did not want to use the kit decals so a Whif it became! :D

The dutch offer - essentially a swap for bushmasters was a good one which would have been wise.  As it is Land 17 has short listed it again (the only other contender on the short list being the AS-9 mentioned above) - I think it will eventually successful.

Mind you, I still like yours - the G-6 was my original favourite:
