Great collection! Highlights for me are the Bucc and the ADC F-12s

Here is a better shot, sort of, of two F-12s; one in NMF with the black mask, and the other in all black.  The NMF one is a developed version, does not have the break in the nose chine (planned for the production F-12B) and has the extra tail extension of the SR-71 (for more fuel).  The other Blackbird is a regular SR.  Also, there is a B-58 interceptor version in ADC grey to the right; it was re-configured for a 2 man crew (this was an actual proposal, IIRC, in the late 50s, for a B-58B or C version as an interceptor, some had J-58s.)

Thanks for the pic. Got a F-12A in the pipline myself. Quite like the break in the chine, though it makes it look like the world's fastest hamster head-on with the puffed-out cheeks  ;D. Never considered doing a B variant. Is the radome on the B the same shape as a standard SR-71 or different?

Love your interceptor Hustler and I think I've seen the Wyverns on this site before, love them too.

What's the Light Grey F-117's story?

I'll try not to answer every one of your posts with more questions  ;D

From what I have read, the definitive production F-12B would have had an SR-like nose, maybe a bit more in diameter for the radar antenna.  The light Grey F-117 was done just to be different; light Ghost Grey with Int'l Orange on the tails.  I have since re-painted it in a different shade of gray, using it as a paint test bed.

I have done two Wyverns, posted before, one in US Navy markings and one in USAF SEA cammo.  The thought there was that the Wyvern was very successful, all engine problems were fixed, and the US Navy purchased hundreds as an AD Skyraider replacement.  When the Vietnam war came along, Wyverns were used in Rescue Ops, as was the A-1.  Photo is of a USAF Wyvern and a USAF F-8 in SEA cammo.

If you mean the F-4 Phantom II, which I think you do, it was F4H. F4J would've been North American.

Here are some more shots of the Interceptor Vigi.   You are correct in that the F-4, when first proposed for use by the USAF was called the F-110.  At the time, there were separate designations for the Navy and USAF; the F-4 was the F4J-1 in the Navy.

tigercat2

You are correct, the Phantom was the F4H.  I must have hit the wrong key, since the J is next to the H.

Yep, it's official - love the Wyvern

Think I'll stick to the F-12A, not sure how a chined nose would affect the radar emissions on the B. Maybe I'll do a B-12 (B-71?) with the SR nose as a pathfinder for the B-70 force?

Sorry, off on a tangent again

If for any reason you have to part with some of your collection, give me a yell  ;D

Here is a better shot of my two F-12Bs.

Thanks for the complements on the collection.  AFter 40+ years of modeling, you tend to collect a few things.  This shelf is about 10% of the collection; I have a very understanding wife (she does think I am crazy somewhat, but this does keep me out of the bars!!).

Wes,

Great collection

Re Photobucket are you still having trouble?

Regards,

Greg
All hail the God of Frustration!!!

tigercat2

Since I can post the photos I need here, I have not bothered with PhotoBucket - its too complicated for an idiot like me!!

This is one of the tastiest posts I've seen lately given the amazing variety and number of models, Tigercat! I especially like the Flying Tigers P-51!

I savored all these pics like I do good bourbon. Thank you.

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

tigercat2

Thanks so much; here are a few Sea Furies, all What If, of course with a few other aircraft.  The blue Sea Fury was an experiment useing inexpensive paint to get a used and weathered look.

Thanks.  The 234 with props is neat.  Those engines are mounted like an An-32.

The Mexican Helldiver is in deep storage?

Logan

I finally found the Mexican Helldiver; here is a better shot.
