In the 1960s, the US Navy started looking for a new COD plane. Douglas proposed a version of the DC-9-21, the overpowered shorty version of the DC-9 family. I used the 1/144 Airfix DC-9-30 kit, shortened into a DC-9-21 :thumbsup:

I love the look of this bird, but I can't for the life of me see it landing on a carrier.  Nice work, though.

If they can land (and catapult) a Herc on a carrier, this seems doable.  In fact, anything is possible when a T-Tail is involved.

Nice one. :)

I always though the C-9 Nightingales looked good in the USN scheme, but the short fuse -20 suits it even better.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Well, my secret is that i take the real thing, paint it, then i shrink it to 1/144 scale...  ;D
