How many of......?

No, not total number of kits, we all know every one of us is waaaaay into the 1000s there, but how many of any one particular aircraft type do we all have? Any and all variants count, so RAF F-4Ks count alongside USN F-4Js, just as 747-100s and 747-400s all count as one type. And scale doesn't matter either, a 1/200 scale 747-400 counts in with a 1/72 747-200 as one type too.

I used to have 23 DC-9s of various sorts, mostly Airfix 1/144 scale ones, but I sold some to B787 on here, so now I'm down to about 18.

However, I just had a census up in The Loft and it seems I have 76 (that's Seventy Six!) Spitfire kits of all Marks, all in 1/72 and that doesn't count the TONS of resin, vacform and white metal Spitfire accessories..........

I doubt that you just took a census in that short time so I guess you must have a database of them, yes? I'm even more impressed that you keep it up to date if so!

I am a mere amateur - I have a total of four P-47 Thunderbolts, all of which have been kit thrashed into other things. Apart from that, I have two Fokker D.VIIs (same fate) and one of everything else I have.

I'm not that nutty.  Ive probably got about a dozen Phantoms in 3 scales, and half a dozen 1/48 Airfix Lightnings (including built ones).  After that, very few multiples.

Oh, and 4 Shermans.

In just taking mental stock rather than box count, likely the most common kit in our home is the 1/48 Zero.  I do find that a bit odd because I'm not that enamored with the type nor was I drunk when orders were placed, but over the years, I've gathered a *bunch* of Zeros.  6 are Hasegawa Rufes, and 3 are from Tamiya.  Then there is the sea of Hasegawa sub types with a handful of Tamiya thrown in.

Perhaps many of them will be in my eBay store when I get around to setting that thing up to thin things out.......

After Zeros it is Meteors.  But having a collection of Meteors (or Canberras for that matter) is both level headed and wise.

Most common kits in the stash are Spitfires - 44 of all marks, followed by Typhoons,Tempests,Thunderbolts and P40's (double figures all). I've a fair few where I've 5 or so and a load of duplicates. Some not intentional
