No joysticks yet, they're a tad too fragile for gluing in at night time, so they'll be in first thing tomorrow and I'll start the colour painting.

So much for that plan.  :banghead:

Resin joysticks in 1/72 are too fragile for their own good, BOTH of the sticks broke in half while I was trying to cut them off from their moulding blocks, so the JP6 will be 'Mind powered' as far as control is concerned.

The canopy is glue on now and when it's dry I'll mask it up and make with the colour.

Whilst we're talking about trainers, what happened to the Venom T-bird?

It's sitting, upside down, on one corner of my model bench, sprayed High Speed Silver, but without any landing gear or canopy so far. Looking at it in broad daylight it's not all that good really, and could de with some TLC before the next coat of paint. But it's not really dead, just waiting some extra mojo on my part.

And me being at home of course...................... :(

And now the T6 looks like a mini-Vulcan, which was the idea of course.  ;D

It's white underneath, Medium Sea Grey and Dark Green on top of course.

It'll have Type D roundels, when I can find some anyway. Either that or I'll have to print some.......

I found a spare sheet that I won't be using.  They'll be in the post tomorrow with the remains of an Airfix Vulcan sheet which could give you some unit markings too, albeit possibly too big.  Printing on the latter looks to be pretty decent too.

I assume you're at the same address the tanks went to?

Good man Lee, thanks a bunch.

Yes, I'm at my 'country home' in Northants still.

You could almost hang that on a Vulcan and call it a remote decoy ----

They planned to hang three Gnats on one, so why not a JP6 or two?  ;D

I've got three Matchbox ones to go under an old tool Airfix Vulcan, I just never got the WE177s to go under the Gnats or I would have done it.

The other thing that had me stumped was how the two under the wing would have been held there enroute to their deployment. I can understand the one tucked under the bomb bay in something similar to a Blue Steel hanger, although the pilot would have to be in the Gnat before it was loaded.  No, it was the pylon that held the outer two.  Presumably they'd be in the same position as the Skybolt pylons, but they're going to have to be longer than the fin height for the aircraft to clear, all of which impacts on ground clearance.

May well resurrect this one as I don't think anyone's done it yet.  Although possibly with a single Gnat under the bomb bay as "proof of concept"

Tell me about it ! That's why I use my finest razor saw blade to separate parts like that nowadays and I still have somewhere near a 20% casualty rate  :-\

I swear if you put eyes and a smile on that T6 it would be a contender for the next Disney "Planes" movie  ;)
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Markings are in the post.

And received already!

Thanks a million Lee, they're just the job.

The JP6 is on its legs now, and with doors too!

Note that some of the 230 OCU JP6s had dummy 'radomes' painted on the nose, just to make them look more like Vulcans.  ;D
