Camo over white.  Best of both worlds and leave the red scheme for proper trainer units.

Bonus points for a CND zap as black humour.

Id go with that scheme as well........... Love the CND zap idea.

It's real - apparently some WE177s seen under a Vulcan had one, painted on by the ground crew.

Well I vote for wrap around camouflage.

Camo would be my choice, too. Interesting little bird.

TBH, I always thought that the best lead in trainer for teh Vulcan would have been the Avro 707C.  There were some vague plans for it to have been produced as such but it was found unnecessary.  Pity, although I've every intention of doing my Olimp one in trainer markings with one of the Vulcan squadrons.  Ditto a Beagle Bassett, as they were intended to carry a full V-bomber crew as well as two others.

Indeed so, seeing the 707C at Cosford back in 2009 is what triggered me off on this build in the first place, and I mentioned it in the very first post on this thread.

The 707C is a cracking looking aeroplane, very much a mini-Vulcan!

That build here gave me an idea - I have a 1:200 Vulcan somewhere in the stash, and an Airfix Strikemaster, too. Maybe...?

That would give you a much better wing shape than mine, which was cobbled from a spare FD2 and some styrene LE add-ons.

If you can still get it I recommend the Obscureco cockpit set, it's very nicely moulded, just needs some attention to get it to actually fit properly.

Would a Javelin wing not be better? Although I did think of scaloramaring a 144th or 200th Vulcan earlier too.

A Javelin wing is 12 mm thick at it's thickest, which is about the same thickness as a JP's intake duct............  :o

Mmmmn, but you could put larger Vulcan style intakes in those, plus given that it'd have a larger wing and thus be heavier it'd need a beefier engine, so upgrade to an Avon which would need more air, so we're back to larger intakes.

...and a much larger rear fuselage to take the Avon.

By now it's a delta Hunter.  ;D

All the PSRing and priming is done now, and the cockpits finished, complete with two seats. No joysticks yet, they're a tad too fragile for gluing in at night time, so they'll be in first thing tomorrow and I'll start the colour painting.

By popular vote it'll be camo topsides and white underneath.

Give that an elongated nose and perhaps Fleet Air Arm colours and you've got a neat little fighter for the RN. That Skyray I built is obviously still having an effect on me  ;D

That's neat work Kit
