Actually, it's a few versions - Su-27KUB if I recall, which was the navalized trainer, little more than a side by side flanker, which had side access.  The Su-32 which is an export model of the Su-34, both of which are ground attack aircraft, and seperate from the majority of Flankers by having ingress/egress through the Nose Gear bay into the cabin area.

The carrier side-be-side version was the Su-33KUB (easily spotted by its rounded nose):

Whereas the one's I'm interested in are the Su-27IB (early designation)/Su-32FN (proposed Maritime strike designation)/Su-34 (current? designation) have the duck bill nose:

To be honest, i think the Su-32 and Su-34 are the same, yet different aircraft posted in the pictures. You never know with Sukhoi. Venezuela ordered Su-35s, yet got Su-30s looking versions, while India got ordered Su-30s but have the same aircraft as Venezuela... (not counting avionics differences)

787, the 35's the Russian AF version of the absolute high end Fighter variant of the Su-27 - the 37 was a demonstrator, the 35's the Russian issue version, currently up to the BM standard, which features thrust vectoring and such.  They won't sell true 35's ever, to keep that razor's edge over their export customers.

The Su-30 is the Export version of the Super Flanker breed, with the variant names defining normally different client-based differences - the MKI for India, for example, has the V-angled one-axis thrust vectoring that was first tested on the 37.  The MKK, China's variant at the time, had no such engines to my recollection.

Yes, the Su-27 family is sometimes confusing, especially with the different manufacturers pushing their wares now.

Any way re the one's I'm interested in - would like a 1/48 kit of any of the following:

Greg

PS if anyone wants the details of the differences just ask and I will get out my JMN cap.

Almost forgot,
Would love Revell to release their 72nd Gannet in the AEW.3 version with markings from the Ark Royal.

Would also like the EB-57B version of the Canberra in both 72nd and 48th so I wouldn't have to do the conversion myself (hey, I'm lazy).

Am I right in thinking that the KUB has a standard Su-27 nose?  It should be bashable from a Flanker & Fullback , if not particularly easy to get the different shapes to go together.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

My impossible wish:

I wish there was a market for injection moulded styrene aftermarket spurious parts because I'd happily be the manufacturer.    Pointy noses of various shapes for the new Airfix Canberra, "metal" wings for Sopwith Camels, Fokker D.VII's, and SPADs in both 1/48 and 1/32,  3-bladed wood props in the 3 major scales,  steam tractor like wheels, fictional weaponry for aircraft and armor in requisite scales, and the like.   It would be fun.  But it would be financially rotten as well.  Can anyone say 'Goodbye $US300,000???'

Is there something wrong with the 1:72 Revell Tornado F3? The GR1 is very nice indeed.
Some of my models can be found on my Flickr album >>>HERE<<<

Another of my wishes is that some manufacturer will do some modern Triple A, preferably in 1/72.  And I don't mean some Soviet/Russian/Eastern Block types, RAF, CAF, USAF, French, German is what I'm really after.

Up at Cold Lake a few years ago I saw some CAF airfield defence type, twin barrel and sounded like a Bofor but a bit faster, it seemed the gunner was in another vehicle but can't be sure on that.
If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike
